I am trying, and kind of failing...

Hi All,

I have a Youtube video, a Facebook Page and 2 landing pages.

Right now I have had 185 visitors for my first landing page and 58 visitors on my other one. I've got like 2 subscribers (my conversion rate is lowwwwwwwwwwwwww).

Am i doing something wrong? I've tried leaving comments on other people's Youtube fitness videos, but i don't really know how to attract attention. I thought a video might help discussing my personal recent experience with weight loss but i haven't had much attention...

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks!

Your squeeze pages are both horrible. Too much text and they're not pleasing to the eye.

I'm not going to take the time to re-do them for you, but I can see the problems on both of them.

Look at other successful squeeze pages on big sites in your niche and see if you can model yours after them.

    Good luck!

I have to agree with Jeff. Your opt in pages look terrible.

Too much text and you are just giving away too much on that page. Try a lot less text and get rid of the red points.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[10110573].message }}
  • Something about all the mixing of bold, and red in the text make it look too commercial or spammy for me. I would not leave my email either.

Go for fewer words and get the optin at the top.

Good luck, I hope you do great with this. The great thing you did was take action, now you just need to keep tracking and adjusting.

    Dear Sushi92,

Thumbs up for your courage to do a talking head video and upload it to youtube.
    Keep on creating more video.

    My 2cents about your video.
    Build Trust
    - Tell people what happened to you.
    - Have before and after picture of yourself.
    - Tell people how you do it.

Transcribe your video and put it in the description.

Do not send people to two landing page on one video.

This particular video is viewed by only 14 people, if you have 243 visitors, it means the visitors are coming from other places. Did you track?

    Your landing page.
Your call to action buttons at both landing page are under the fold.
Try to fit everything above the fold.

    Keep tuniing your landing page.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I hoped they didn't look as terrible as they do . I did think they look horribly spammy but a guy said to me but RED and BOLD and FREE all over the place...... Do you reckon I could literally take out the bullet points? I was told to keep them in... so I'm getting conflicting opinions ...

gr8... is that GetResponse? If so, get your own domain name and site. Shorten the squeeze page and get straight to the point with your headline.

Your prospects already know what the deal is.

Get rid of the video at the bottom of the page. Just get in, and get out.

Would you keep the bullet points? Just out of interest. I'm just thinking how much text i need to chop... Plus what about the background? Should that change?

    Sushi92,

They suggest you to use less red, not taking out your bullet point.
No body ask you to take out your FREE words.

    Try to shorten these sentences
    * The benefits that this FREE video talks about are:
    Example:
    Here's what you will learned

    * How to get fit and in shape without needing to starve yourself or take pills
    Example:
Stay in shape while eating as much as you want.

    * How us women have a head start over men when it comes to balancing out this hormone
    Example:
Women are better than men in losing weight.

The copy is weak. Looks like you're targeting WOMEN. You need to create a BENEFIT DRIVEN headline.

    How do you do that?

Your product is a WEIGHT LOSS SYSTEM, right?

Think what the number one emotional benefit your product offers to your target (Women?) and that's your headline.

    Example:

"Want to Know My Secret Trick That I Used to Lose 14 Pounds in 30 Days and Finally Be The Envy of All The Other Women on the Beach?"

You can test that one if you like though I'll admit, I just pulled it out of thin air. Here's a few things about that headline that are important when writing copy......

That headline is BENEFIT DRIVEN. It plays on an emotional want most women have..... looking better than their peers in a swimsuit (it's implied in the headline)

..... 14 pounds in 30 days..... that provides an element of tangablity. They can actually SEE themselves losing 14 pounds in 30 days. That's kinda like a goal. You can't say the same for "lose weight" though. It's weak.

Consider these points and rewrite your copy.

Build traction w/ your Youtube channel(This will take time). It's a great way to attract traffic. You just need to stay consistent with adding more videos but at the same time providing great, exciting(share worthy) content in your videos. Don't let $$ be your primary focus. Let your message be the primary focus. Build a following by providing great content first... once you gain their trust you can sell to them later.

Look at your squeeze pages from outside of yourself.

    Would you leave your info?

What is the reason why someone would leave their info?

Why opt-in to watch a sales video when I can just type in venus factor if im looking for it?

Who are you and why should I listen?

      Hi Andre,

I'm going to change my wording to how some other guy worded it on here. I didn't want to feel like I'm exaggerating too much because I want to stay honest, but I think the emphasis on the hormone has been done perfectly. Unfortunately I'm more a writer/poet rather than a pitching person so it's always nice to get an idea of what headline to use - I can probably do the rest.

I was going to say, in terms of the sales video, I do want the clickbank link to be used, but it only seems to be able to redirect to the sales page, whereas I'd much rather it navigate to the content (I think it's on the get started page). Is it possible to change this and still be the middle man?

As for who am I? I'm someone who has been through the same experience of losing weight for a few months and I know what works - but that's if you watched the video would you know that I'm gonna do a few more... I really want to get some good video making software though.

The reasons I ask those questions is because you have to give people reason to opt-in something to give them that helps solve problem for them...

"10 Foods You Shouldn't Eat If You Want To Lose Weight"

Something quick that helps them in exchange for email.

People don't buy the product they buy the results of the product or they buy you.

Get them liking you and your results then simply show them, after you have their attention how you got the results.

Nice Deekay - some of those stats are impressive! Care to share your various methods of traffic? Or is that a secret in this place...

I got a subscriber today! They didn't actually buy the product but they opted in which i'm mega happy about . So... that's like 1 out of 10 or so, so 10%. Which is definitely better than 0.01% which is what i was hitting so that's a 10000% improvement .

What do you think of my text? Do you think the text is good? What kind of adjustments would you make? Admittedly I need some guidance on what to change and what not to change...

Get that font size down. Way too big. Very annoying to read, just to be honest.

You also may want to narrow the Niche down to something like women wanting to lose weight after pregnancy.
IMO, the more narrow ,the more precisely targeted you can get and ultimately from my experience the more money to be made.

          Hi Robert,

I'm assuming you mean get it down in desktop view. Mobile view the font is fine .

Also, I would specialise in a specific niche, but I don't know what. Pregnancy wouldn't be one of them as I've never been pregnant so can't really give advice on that.

There are 2 things I'm pretty good at in sports - karate, and football. I got up to the black belt exam but was having personal issues so I didn't pass, but I'm essentially a black belt. Also been playing football for years and played for a couple of clubs.

But see, I don't really as how any of that could help in the fitness niche...

Better yet, hire someone to enhance your rich content squeeze page.

    How about using leadpages?

I agree with them, reduce the font size of your main heading. You may use this red color #cc0000 for your heading.

Try to move the site wrapper a little bit higher.

    Work on your salescopy.

To spice it up a little bit, use a check bullet point image.

You forgot to add your copyright text in the footer.

    Break a leg.

Also you may want to get proper domains for the squeeze pages - something short/catchy, easy to remember that will look professional.

Long domains, especially when you also have sub-domains, look amateur and create a sense of a cheap brand.

This is almost always a sign that you're not targeting your marketing correctly.

When you don't know how to target your marketing, you try to appeal to everyone, but with the number of specific products available today, you lose every customer.

For example, if you promote "weight loss", and another person promotes "6-pack abs", while another promotes "drop your body fat", we're going to go with the program that delivers SPECIFICALLY what we want.

Figure out your customer's EXACT needs, and focus around building that.

The main squeeze page specifically talks about losing a specific number of pounds in a few weeks. That essentially is dropping your body fat - don't think i have to spell it out to people :\, i'm sure they realise what losing pounds equates to...

Like ChrisNosal touched on... poor conversions have more to do with the traffic you're targeting and the ad/CTA they clicked than the design of your squeeze page.

Squeeze pages are one of the most misunderstood aspects of internet marketing. People think they can throw up a squeeze page and send traffic to it and get 80% conversion rates.

That's not how it works. I've gotten CR's that high but it was because I spent a helluva lot of time preselling the opt-in. So, when they got to the page they were already sold on opting in.

I'm going to take you in a completely different direction, mainly because it's made me more money. Here goes...

Forget about the hard squeeze page (what you're using). Font colors, background images, button colors and all that crap mean nothing. If you've done a good job selling the opt-in and you're showing it to the right person, it doesn't matter what color the headline is or if it looks "pretty".

I used to use squeeze pages like the ones you're using and the best CR I ever got (from cold traffic) was 52.1%. What I use now is a 7-PAGE squeeze page that has converted as high as 30.5%. (It's the free mini-course in my signature.)

That's a much lower conversion rate, right? Yep. But guess what? My conversion to sale is 10 TIMES higher. My 7-page squeeze page does two things:

    1. It attracts the exact person I want to attract.

    2. It repels the exact people I want to repel and never want on my list.

You need to inject your own personality. If you have experience with this niche, use that. Tell stories. Stories building trust because can relate to your stories.

(My 7-Page squeeze page is the free mini-course in my signature. Look at it. Study it closely. You don't need to opt-in to understand what I'm doing - just study my structure. It took me days to write it but was well worth the time.)
