Does YouTube Ever Ban Marketing VIdeos?

Hello
I am using some Youtube videos for marketing on the back end of a product I sell.
They are being used in the upsell pages.

I was wondering, does Youtube ever come in and ban or delete these? Or are they ok with us using their bandwidth?

Also, do I have to check this box?

    Hey,

Youtube is very lenient in terms of marketing and advertising videos. The only issue I could see is that videos with affiliate links usually have low search ranking. But if you're using them for a site you should have no issues.

To be sure, you could upload an unlisted video, they basically don't touch those.

    Thanks
    Foodre

Marketing video do get banned/deleted sometimes. For example a video that has 1 like and 99 dislikes and also gets reported a lot of times, will get banned.
Per day a lot of videos get banned/deleted by Youtube, most of these videos have pornographic content...

You will have to test and see.

Sometimes it is not an issue of YouTube doing it, but of competitors flagging the videos, and getting them removed.

    It happens.

      Most competitors are friendly.

I've only had one video flagged, and it was a video I drove 40,000 views to with fiverr, lol.

As far as I know no, they don't. They just don't rank that high, what you can do however, is place a link to your website and try to convert them there, e.g. redirect them to a review you wrote about "x" product and place a link to your offer there not the video itself.

This works great since you are giving extra value to the people watching the video and coming to your site.

I have had entire youtube accounts closed down for marketing videos,
If you do a really bad hype type video they will delete the account.

After many years of experience using You Tube, they can and will ban your video for a ton of different reasons. Just take a look at their terms of service but from my experience, re-uploading someone elses content, if enough people complain about your video/channel and not having a phone verified account are some of the issues I've come across that has got my accounts shut down.

    Yes they do.

Some of my marketing accounts was completely removed. Host your videos on something like wistia.

YouTube can delete your videos and ban you.

Just make sure that you have these videos saved on your hard drive so that when this happens, your videos are not gone forever and you can still use them.

Yes, YouTube has been known to ban marketing videos. They abruptly canceled my account in 2012 without warning or explanation, other than to say I'd violated their terms of service.

Inquiries regarding how I had done that went unanswered, and I certainly wasn't doing anything that 10,000 other marketers weren't also doing. If you're going to use YouTube for marketing videos, I'd recommend setting up a unique account that you don't mind losing for that purpose alone.

Exactly the same thing happened to me .. I was following another marketers advice which incidentally I had paid for and they shut my account down without explanation. They are totally unreasonable once they have made their decision and no amount of begging will get your account back.

  • Hi The Oilman

Yes, they do often and be careful because you risk even canceling your account without being able to recover.

It appears that if an account is overly promotional toward the IM/MMO crowds then it has a chance of being shut down.

I've seen both sides of the coin here; marketers who have tons of videos promoting lots of different products whose accounts stay active whereas another account of a marketer creating legit teaching videos gets shut down.

It doesn't make sense in some cases, but it appears to be a judgement call for YT's spam moderators.

There are some accounts with nothing but promotional and borderline spammy/hype videos that have been active for years. Just stays under the radar I guess.

I used to make those "article videos". You know, basically a video that was created from an article.

Got banned 5 months after i started.
