Google Chrome's Anonymous feature - How your kids can see porn without leaving a trace

If you want to browse without leaving cookies or history on your computer Chrome has a little known feature for Anonymous browsing. Just CNTL+SHFT+ N and you 'll get a new window that doesn't leave a history. Servers you hit however will still track your IP.

This is prob. not good news for affiliates that depend on cookies.

I hope this feature won't have too much success. Since there are many Web sites that won't work properly without cookies activated, I guess people trying this feature will soon stop using it. I hope or the current affiliate sales tracking model will have to change.

You can do private browsing in Safari 4 as well.

Alain,

I doubt it will. It's hard to find. Most people are lazy and will just use the browser as is.

The same feature is in firefox 3.5.

I wouldn't get too worried about losing money as most probably won't know or use the features in these browsers.

Well most people already know how to delete cookies and history and I even have software to overwrite all of these files up to 32 times. It's not that big of a difference. I doubt we have anything to worry about.

Was just going to mention that!

I took a look at it but didn't see the point to be honest! Most of the porn sites need cookies anyway to acess them as they have a first page warning so this really wouldnt work for the porn side of things.

You can also do anonymous surfing with Firefox with a plug-in, I am not sure if they have integrated that feature yet but heard they were going to.

It seems there is a something different everyday that is the "end to affiliate marketing".

Actually the point of privacy mode is to remove all traces after the session, so cookies, history, cache etc. are deleted after you exit the browser. All major browsers, including IE8 have this feature.
