The Highest Paid Profession Is...

Sales.

I want to thank JT for giving away a free ebook that points this out. Everyone making big money is selling something.

So how did "sales" get such a bad rap as a profession?

Because most people are amatuer salesmen that never grew up and learned how to do PROFESSIONAL sales. But once you get good at sales there is no limit to how much money you can make. So instead of spending your time and money on law or medical school. Consider spending four years studying sales. Start out as a telemarketer and study in your spare time. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It's got the highest income potential anywhere and extremely fast growth and promotional opportunities anywhere for those who work hard.

Mike, you are right when you say sales is one of the best professions around in the world, but surely you are under estimating the value of other professions out there.

We all need doctors and medicinal professionals, and I am pretty darned sure I can not do without them.

So people opver there in those professions aren't spending their time and money just to be able to make money, but for the immense satisfaction that they get when they are able to save the lives of other people who have near-death experiences and so on.

My take on it... Focus on what you want to do and excel in it. Keep perfecting yourself everytime you do it and eventually you will be greatly rewarded.

But never ever underestimate the value of other people's work.

Technically doctors and lawyers are also in sales. They sell services.
The doctors and lawyers I know who make the most money own their own businesses.

But what you have said in your first post is something on the lines of... Stop wasting your time on medicine professions etc., instead just do something related to selling DIRECTLY.

That is what it looks like Prima Facie.

Well no. We need doctors and lawyers. I don't want to suggest for a minute that people drop that if they'd be good at it. But they are selling directly, the only question is: what are you selling? They sell legal services. If they are a consultant they are actually in the information business.

They have the potential to do sales at a very high level with the right training because they sell a high end product. I know a lawyer who advertises through PPC and makes boatloads of money because one conversion (client, settlement) can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's all sales. Just a different product.

Another point: Just because something is the highest paid profession doesn't mean everyone should do it, or even wants to. Not everyone wants to be rich. Lots of people just want to be happy doing something they enjoy and pays the bills.

I've been out of college for about 8 years and despite a degree, I've only been in Sales up until this point.

Here is an inspiring movie (about 3 min) which has laid a foundation for my sales philosophy as a profession.

            Hi Tak,

I also saw the movie (short and sticks to the essentials), and have to say I agree with you wholeheartedly.

            Many successes,

The only thing that is even more highly paid than being a Real estate Mogul and that is being a Hedge Fund Manager.
I think Steve Cohen has had numerous years where he has averaged over $500 million a year

And of course we all know about George Soros pulling in a whooping 1 billion dollars+ back in the 1990's on ONE SINGLE Trade. He shorted the British Pound

Other than these two professions ,I would agree that Sales is the highest paid one !!

All I know is that my father is a VP in a company and he is paid mad cash but his 34 year old sales guy pulled in around 600,000 last year. So if your good at sales its the way to go.

Unless of course you found Amazon or something lol.
