Amazon Google Ranking Does This Work??

Wassup guys,

I'm looking for some advice about Amazon Google rankings....

Please only answer if you are very confident with your answer and refrain from posting just to pose.

Well, I own a product which I added to the Amazon marketplace.

The product is listed and for sale, now I'm looking to rank the Amazon URL of my product but I need some help from an experienced IMer.

I would like to know if I just straight up blast it with the kitchen sink will the page rank just because it's on the amazon.com domain or do I still need to filter the link juice so it's "clean" ?

If not then what's your opinion for gaining nice long lasting high rankings on Google for my target keywords?

or Maybe someone might have actual experience and results with ranking an Amazon product page?

Thanks in Advance!

Regards,

R.k

By now, you probably already know that Google uses a very different rankling algorithm than amazon. I have to say. Google is easier to rank high in. Basically, it uses links to decide who gets to be number one. Social media is also a signal, but it is not the dominant factor in this game. Do not chase after social or spend a lot of money. Good product will eventually find their way to bloggers who can review em. Most of these bloggers look at press releases and also use Google to search for new products or new services. Therefore, I have a great time getting to the top of the Google search engine.

In contrast, we see a different approach in amazon. They look at total sales and reviews. Products with more sales will out rank yours. OK so we compete using low prices. Also, keep an eye on your reviews. For example, poor reviews will do more than crush your sales, they will also reduce your rank hurting sales even more.

Getting to the top of Google is easy. However, that is not the case in amazon. They look at your total sales to decide your rank and new products typically have a low rank as customers do not want to be the first person to buy a brand new product with zero reviews.

I think the OP is asking about ranking his Amazon page on Google SERPS, not ranking on Amazon itself. If that's the case, yes I'd say you can throw everything (inc the kitchen sink) at it in terms of links. You can probably be more aggressive on anchor text as well because the Amazon domain is a lot more protected (if not immune) from Penguin etc.
