Is JVZoo a turn-off for some customers?

I've used JVZoo in the past to sell products in the MMO niche and never really had any issues (I think most customers expect JVZoo as a checkout or at least are familiar with them). One of my niches is different than the MMO niche and I'm afraid that the JVZoo checkout will turn some of my customers away (I'm afraid they will think that it doesn't look professional)....Anyone experience this actually happening or am I being paranoid? Thoughts?

On my website, I clearly indicate that my software is not a JVZoo product mostly because of the type of people JVZoo attracts... (the get-rich-quick, black hat, etc. etc. crowd)

That's the "I gave you my hard-earned money and I want my product right-now, Oh my GOD, I didn't get an instant sale, I wanna refund, Oh - wait... I really can't spam with it? Okay then, where do I sign up for a newsletter -- nevermind, I'm interested in something else now" crowd.

    Same thing with Clickbank.

So I stick with "quieter" affiliate programs that are expected in my industry (software).

There's a fine line between so much in this industry, and it honestly takes experience to know where those lines are and why they exist. I'm still experimenting with these fine lines!

There are a lot of categories on JVZoo but they deal mostly with MMO stuff. It is possible that some customers could be turned off by their approach or the idea that they are now going to get emails from JVZoo itself.

I completely agree. JV Zoo is a major turn off when I purchase products. It's bad enough being opted into the seller's list involuntarily, let alone when I get spammed every day by them as well. I'm glad there are a number of reputable alternatives who don't carry on like this.

Which alternatives are you referring to? I do like the way JVZoo works with the sales funnel but I really don't want my customers getting bombarded with their emails.

Right now, it's only eSellerate and Amazon. AFAIK, eSellerate works with software only, but Amazon pretty much accepts anything.

Why would your customer know or care about the platform your product is being sold on outside of the IM/MMO market? We as marketers know what JVZoo is because we're in the industry. But does a dentist or a baker, or a dog trainer know JVZoo? Probably not. Taking that into consideration, JVZoo might actually work to your advantage. At least it's not Clickbank, that has a wider rep outside of the IM market.
