No doubt health and fitness niche is very very competitive and there are many big players who have already established their brand.

If you want to make your mark in this industry, it will take much of efforts and big budget ($$$). Otherwise its quite difficult to get something out from this particular niche.

lol I think there are a few more adjectives we could use other than down to describe the emotional cascade and utter hopelessness one can feel in the midst of trying to target outrageously over-saturated niches in the highest competition brackets. You will never beat the giants, they have already won so stop emulating your websites structure & content on sites like the ones you described in original post... The only way you are going to naturally and progressively grow is if you are doing some, pardon my poor phrasing, balls to the wall laser targeting & then you are going to have to focus on content quality - again, why would a user of fitness.com want to come to your site? What are you doing to actively maintain your retention?

So in a nutshell, yes... when choosing to go up against go-to niche that almost everyone has tried out at least once in their IM career, in some capacity or another, kinda like the village prostitute... I say you shift your focus all together, re group, come up with a more unique brand development strategy outside of the commercial mindset & i promise you, happy days will be on your horizon my friend

that means i have to unique from them but somethings..Marketing amazing.
If competitive also good. because you surely have people come to visit your site if they are trying to find out more about health and fitness.

On the other side yes ..what will a person usually visit fitness.com will come to my site BUT now a days people don't just stick to one site. They will browse various sites for " refresh " yup provided my content is kinda different.

      nevertheless I will keep pushing

Follow some of the fitness experts on Instagram (Like Shredz) for brilliant and inventive ways to promote products in the health niche.

It certainly gave me some brilliant ideas.

It would be foolish to go for broad niches in health and fitness, as the competition is fierce. But you can do well if you go for a sub niche and use cost effective techniques to drive targeted traffic to your website.

For example, you can go for a subniche like Yoga to Cure Diseases, Fitness for Moms after Pregnancy etc.

Yes, it's a very popular and crowded niche...but there is still a place for everyone. You might not get millions of followers on your facebook page, but you can still build a big community if you post interesting stuff and well researched articles.

I think all of these things are not to be worried about. Find a smaller pool within that larger pool and Go For It. Keep in mind that there are 100 stores selling the same thing as Walmart. If I buy a suit, I don't want a Walmart Suit...just saying.
