Advice - Don't know what to do?

I am fairly new to IM - I have been in domaining, network marketing, all with relative success, but recently caught the bug of IM.

Now I don't know what to do -- I started out with CB and doing PPC to it, no success to speak of, then I found WF and started reading and reading and reading... I then thought CPA way to go and ditched everything to do with CB... Thought about doing PPC with CPA but then started reading about article marketing... Bought article submission software from here, spinners, PLR stuff, etc, etc... I've rewrote articles, submitted, submitted and no traffic, nada, so its hard to sit down and slave over them for hours and hours... Uggghhh.

Now I've been reading about "Conduit Sites" and other methods that poo poo article marketing and its just about enough to make me through in the towel. I got into IM because of the freedom of working for myself at home like I have before, but I've worked more than I ever have in my life and I now feel that if I'm playing golf I don't enjoy myself, I feel like I should be home working on a blog...

Any advice from people who have went through this info overload...? I don't know if I should scratch everything, pick 1 product, 1 site and do it and go from there... I just don't know...

And I really don't have time to build up income, I need to get to making $100 a day ASAP to keep in...

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies...

MG

I would say this - Try one thing at a time until you find something that you can work with. If you don't like article marketing or whatever, don't force it, just move on. If you still want to do it, outsource it. There are millions of ways to get traffic, just keep trying.

Also, I would suggest that you try to create your own product. My experience has been that you'll make way more money selling something of your own than selling something for somebody else.

One blog or one site, good product either your own or affiliate, lots of promotion and you have something to start with... plust build a list at the same time. Be focused and persistent.

MG- been there, done that-umm still doing that.

Seriously though, this place can be over whelming. Many people will tell you-pick a method and stay with it. I personally have tried that. Lets see if I can reel off my list of things I've tried.
      • Bans (build a niche site) don't recommend
      • 17 autoblogs built & sold
      • squidoo lenses-no luck
      • article marketing both written myself and outsourced -no luck
      • selling CB products- no luck
      • 1 bad jv experience (recent & project is on hold till I find a new partner)
      • 1 ebook written and hopefully selling soon
      • Craigslist marketing -does not work for me-but the incoming spam has taught me new swear words. -no luck
      • 2 Amazon affiliate stores- no luck
      • 1 physical site offering services- still too new to tell
So really I feel your pain.

My theory is this, instead of picking a method and trying to keep plugging along -don't keep doing that if your not finding success. In my eyes it is a waste of time. Instead find a method that works for you-if you find success, rinse & repeat. Most people may not agree with moving on to another method.

A decent way into internet marketing is to provide a service related to internet marketing. If I had to make $100 a day with content, I'd be selling 20 articles a day for $5 per long before I'd be submitting 20 articles a day to EZA and whatnot. A pal of mine saved himself from homelessness penny-a-wording from Starbucks on a borrowed laptop, worked his way into a book review a day for $500 a week deal (he joked about making $100 an hour for an hour a day), and last I heard he was outsourcing most of his work now and just editing it before he sent to clients.

There's miners, and there's the guys selling pickaxes. Miners don't always strike gold, but they have to buy pickaxes.

      You gotta break the cycle.

I hear people say all the time " I tried that, but it didn't work" my answer is - it all works

Every single thing that you hear people talk about that makes them money, works...period.

      Blogging
      Article Marketing
      Site Flipping
      etc...

What you really need to do is to decide which method you are the most comfortable with. Don't buy anything or get on someones list that is what you view to be an expert on the subject and just start absorbing info.

The reason I tell you not to buy anything is because by doing so, you are just training yourself to keep pulling the credit card out whenever you hit a rough spot.

From all the information you can gather, give it a go, but make sure you are committed to the long haul. Once you find out what area you are having trouble with, then try to scope in and find a good product or service to buy.

If you're having trouble getting traffic, get something that is going to help you with traffic - Not a whole new "system". If you are having trouble with keywords, get something that helps you with keyword research - not a whole new system. I'm sure you get the idea

Jeremy is right. It all works, it's just some people are good at certain things and are able to get them working for them. You either need to change your angle instead of flogging a dead horse, or you need to find something that you can grasp.

I would first of all look at building a small site, blog or landing page (with contact page). Or maybe two of them.

Set one up around a product and one around a free product that you can give away in order for a sign-up to your mailing list.

Ensure you have your target keywords in place, not too competitive and then build backlinks. Submit a few articles making proper use of your resource box.

Don't start your resource box off with 'Written by....'. This indicates the end of your article and people may not read beyond it.

I have another great tip for your opt-in page but I was wanting to give it it's own thread which I'm going to do in about 30 minutes so take a look there shortly. It's a tip on how to make money when people sign up to your list... And it works!

Just stay focused. It's a good thing to open a word / notepad document and write a short list of your tasks, from start to finish of your project. Then start from the top and work your way through them one by one.

Once you start making money you then simply repeat the process using the same work structure but new products and ideas to create revenue streams.

A little something that happened with me recently which always puts a smile on my face. Hopefully this will inspire you. Last saturday night I took my wife and two kids out to TGI's for a meal and then to the cinemas. After the food, drinks, sweets, popcorn... You name it, the bill for those few hours was about £95 which is about $150 I think. In those few hours I made over $200 automated income from just two revenue streams from organic traffic. I was basically earning more whilst out socialising than I was spending. All from the internet without having o lift a finger. I get sales notifications come through to my Blackberry.

My point is, once you set up a few automated sales streams that each bring in money everyday you'll find that this happens to you.

Don't give up. Stick with it and be patient. Just don't get caught in the wheel if it aint turning, find another. In other words just approach what you're doing from another angle.

One last piece of advice, depending what your promoting, video and screenshots increase conversions. I had a massive jump in sales when I added a few google serps screenshots to one of my sites. As for videos, if it's software you're selling it is a good way to give the visitos a closer look and illustrate how it works.

    Good luck.

I'd say the big mistake is the new shiny object syndrome. A new product comes out, they buy it, dabble with it for a bit and then move on to the next. It's the same with network marketing. People join, dabble for a bit and then join the next new pre-launch.

Do a bit of reserch, find an internet marketing process you enjoy and run with it. If you buy new products, implement them into your current project(s). Putting too much on your plate might cause you to do nothing and that's another obstacle.
