on the subject of writing articles

Let's say if I have an article website/blog....how often in a given week should I be posting up articles before creating anchor texts that link back to other blogs in my website?

Is 3 times a week of writing fine? How about 7 days a week once each day?

    Don't focus on frequency.

    Focus on quality.

Also, don't focus on anchor texts UNLESS they are brand mentions.

Thanks to Google Panda and its second update, anchor texts for 'money keywords' can do more harm than good.

Concentrate your time on reaching out to niche-related blogs and building real relationships using content people can TRUST.

It's all about BRAND BUILDING now.

Quantity is not too important, but what really matters is the quality of your content. Is is interesting to read? Are you providing any new/useful information for your readers? Is your content timeless or you're just covering some latest trend that will disappear 2 months later?

writeaway, made an excellent point regarding branding. You don't want to be dependant on anyone for traffic, including Google. So your focus should be on how to create a blog that will naturally attract visitors from as many channels as possible and will be totally independent from Google, meaning you won't be affected by no silly "updates" or penalties from anyone.

    What is QUALITY CONTENT?

I know this sounds SUBJECTIVE but you can look at the following factors

    1) Backlinks generated from niche specific sites/blogs

    2) Number of social shares

You can focus on the following

    1) Is your information Up to Date compared to your competition?

    2) Do you offer graphics / video to improve content digestion and reduce bounce rate?

    3) Do you offer more points of engagement (ie., questions)?

    4) Do you offer more list items (your competitors have top 20 lists, you offer top 200 lists)?

Just like @Writeaway said ... focus on QUALITY over quantity!!

Is about how much value you can offer your niche's audience - not so much how frequent you can share a simple article!

How often you publish a blog post will depend on the quality of each one of those blog posts. If writing 3 blog posts a week is interfering with the quality of them - then you should lower the number!

Right now I'm publishing about 1 post per week. And that is because I am focusing more on the marketing part!

    I implement the 80/20 rule

80% of my time is spent marketing my blog and 20% of my time is spent creating high quality blog posts!

Work a lot more on BRANDING as well. Which is pretty much the marketing part!

    I hope this helps!
