How To Make Money From Your Opt-In Subscribers When They Sign Up To Get A Free Product

Hi,

If you are one of those internet marketers who are getting 20+ opt-ins per day by giving away a free product then you are potentially leaving a lot of money on the table.

One of my sites is a free service where people sign up to my mailing list and in return gain free unlimited access to my free tool.

I get anything from 20 - 40 subscribers per day from this and it is building my list nicely and consistantly. This got me thinking though, surely there is a way of monetizing this process other than profiting from the list over time.

What I did was redirect the user to an 'Offer' page once they have signed up. They can choose to close the offer or purchase it.

Now the product I offer is a perfect match for my free tool. It can be used with it. It's a PLR product that I bought and can sell on. My angle on this method is to offer a product as a cheap price. A price that will make it hard not to buy. Although many of the visitors may have found my site looking for a tool like (organic SE traffic) this they would not necessarily be in buying mode, so I opted for a price of $8. This price switches on the 'Impulse' mode in people.

I have also seen similar products sell for $47 before so I have a big $47 price with a strike through it and then have a Only $8 in red below. This draws attention to the price drop and gives the visitor a comparison of what they could have been charged to what they can buy the product for... right now.

To cap this post off. This offer from my free give-away opt-in page is converting at between 6% - 20% every day. There is not a day that passes where I don't sell any of my $8 offer.

This has been in place a couple of weeks or so now. It has made me think how much money I have missed out on by not implementing this earlier. I could also rinse and repeat this process numerous times.

So, my point. By implementing the very same technique I am using above, not only would you be gaining new subscribers to your mailing list, you'll also be gaining sales each and everyday.... including the weekends.

I've even had a couple of emails thinking me for such a great tool and a cheap offer that they just 'had to' take advantage of.

For both you and your subscriber, it's a win win situation.

If you try this technique out for yourself it would be good to hear in this thread how it pans out for you.

To your success!

    Hello Andy,
I use the same type of offer. People sign up at my squeeze page and then I send them to a tell a friend script so they can tell their friends about my free offer or just choose to skip that. Either way I then send them to a one time offer that first says your downlad link is at the bottom of this page. I then try to sell them products. I love this method. I get others to help me build my list and I get to make some money at the same time.

To check out how I do it see the Free Squeeze Page offer in my sig. Also on page two you will see at the bottom what I use for the tell a friend script.

Thats a great idea Andy, thanks for sharing!

    One question:
Do you advertise this offer as a OTO in order to try and increase the sales rate or do you think that this would deter people from purchasing from you in the future.

    Thanks,
    Catherine

good point, but i guess you would try not to force the offer.

Why settle for the that small amount of money?

When they took you up on your $8 offer they made a commitment to you and your service...make a second upsell or something and sell them a $97-$297 product and see how it goes...

I see way too many people underpricing their products or not trying to sell high end because they think that nobody will buy...just try it and see how it goes.

Good point. I'm considering offering a second offer once they click their validation link in their email. Again, they have the option just to close the window.

I guess it's all about experimenting. My point was though that a stream of $8 sales is better than none. This is a prime example of how to create a revenue stream. There are SO many newbies struggling to make anything when such a simple concept like this can be put into place.

Exactly, once they purchased one..they already have the "buying" mindset...they already said yes...so that is a better time as ever to offer them something else, just make sure that it doesn't take long to buy or you put too many offers.

Organic traffic through Google plus some other sources such as Warrior Forum and a couple of places which link to my tool or review it. All free traffic! It's a set and forget system although I do build links when I'm not busy developing new tools.

Try using an up sell of about $50 and the down sell can be your $8 product. If people are willing to spend $8, how many are willing to pay $50 or even higher.

I have to agree with all of this.

I have a sales page with an inexpensive offer right after people opt in to a course or something. I then have over the next few months offers for different things laced throught out the auto-responder.

This I have found to be very effective and very profitable.
