Article Marketing Idea

So I've got about 120 keywords that I want to put up one article on ezine for each keyword.

By then some of my first articles will have dropped out the rankings and be losing place in the serps.

I'm going to backlink my most viewed and highest url clicked articles but after I submit all of these articles to ezine I would like to go back with the first one and then submit it to two other directories (hubpages and goarticles)

I'm thinking that this will get me another top spot in google for about another week (maybe less) for each of these keywords with little effort and not having to go through backlinking or submitting more articles.

I know that the duplicate content penalty is a myth, but will google put an article that is exactly the same back up on top if it's submitted to another directory?

Thanks,
Scott

    Hi Scott,

By and large Google will handle duplicate content by ranking each one on several factors, including its age, the authority of the site the content is on, backlinks, and more.

Most of your plan is solid, but eventually, you do need to focus on a few of your pages for the long term (the ones that initially show promise after a few months).

Otherwise, you're like a hamster on a wheel - constantly churning and burning content for temporary stays in the SE's.

    Hope this helps!

And this is why it's so vital to do your keyword research first to see if you can get into the top 3 organic Google search results. There's a thread somewhere that goes into detail of how important research can be and gave some great tools to do so. A single keyword researched article can pull more views than 100 articles that use your typical keywords that everyone else is fighting over.

When an article starts to dominate others will bookmark it for you over time.

I learned this the hard way when first getting started with article marketing. One of my pen names has more views from 17 articles than 299 of my older articles submitted.

I'm hoping you researched your 120 keywords to avoid struggling for article views like most people do.

      Cheers,
      Dean

Best not to bother putting the same article (or even similar) in hub pages. They penalize you for duplicate content or if it's too similar to another published article even if google doesn't.

Hub pages has got some good points but you have to put in a good bit of effort to get a hub published. They are also really cranking down on promoting and any affiliate links.
Go is a good idea as well as blogger and quizzila.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess what I'll do is go back and submit most of them to goarticles after I get them all done.

What I'd really like to do is start with the top 10 articles in terms of views and either backlink it if the ctr is already pretty good, or get up a new article for that keyword and really put time and effore into the article and start with the backlinks right away.

That's the plan for now at least.

I just got all my hubs flagged from one account as it said I had used duplicate content and it was over promoted..
I used just one of the same articles elsewhere and ended up having to edit all of my hubs from that account as it flagged them all, I don't know why and this is not a new account it's over 2 years old so not sure if they have new rules about the content.
