I have seen a plugin that will translate your blog into 41 languages. Now on the face of it this seems a way to seriously boost your traffic. Has anyone tried it already? |

Is that Global Translator? I have it installed, but haven't had a chance to check my stats yet. Apparently on sites in other languages a bunch of flag icons will appear so people can select their language. It obviously isn't visible on English sites because I'm yet to see it.

If you're refering to Global Translator (Wordpress plugin), yep I use it and it does seem to bring me more traffic. I tend to get quite a few visitors from organic searches on keyword phrases in other languages, so it does increase my traffic to my various blogs. @Glenn72 - You're not seeing the flags on your blog(s) after installing, activating and setting up the plugin? You should be. Depending on where you want the flags to show up in your theme, you may have to put a little chunk of code into the theme file (ie in the footer, etc.). Did you do that? It's been awhile since I've set up that plugin, so things may have changed, but go read through the readme.txt file that came with the plugin. That should get you straightened out. Cindy |

Log into your Google Account and you will discover that Global Translator has created hundreds of 404 error pages that can only be deleted one page at a time. I'm looking for a good translator that won't do this. Anyone know of one? Thanks Steve |

| I don't understand what you are saying here. I am using global translator fine, no errors for me. Do you mean google analytics account? Where are the 404 pages located?

The problem wasn't that the free translator did not work for my sites because it did translate the pages. The problem was what it did in the background by creating several thousand 404 error pages for each site. Steve

It's probably due to the delay between translations. I still don't understand what you mean by you had to delete them one by one.

Taragana claims to have a translator that does not do this but the unlimited use license costs $400 and I'm hoping to not have to spend that. I'm also waiting for feedback on Incansofts Translator to see if it does or does not do this. Steve

I haven't set up analytics on this one yet. I'll set it up and see what it says although I am unsure how it will show 404 as its JS based.

Thanks guys for the plug-in tip. How arrogant of me to consider that all of my websites visitors only speak English. I better get this installed right away. |

I'm using Global Translator and yes, it has increased my traffic alot. The problem is, I am getting all of these foreign searches on my sites, but my product only comes in English. Does anybody have any good ideas on how to monetize this foreign non-english speaking traffic? Thanks, Convergence |

How about Global Translator Pro or Taragana Translator Plugin Pro. Has anyone tried these paid versions? ![]() Gil

Gil, I bought Incansoft Translator but I think its only good for html sites and doesn't work on self-hosting Wordpress sites so I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet on my html sites. Big Mike says that the Incansoft Translator won't create the error pages like the Global Translator plugin did to my WP sites though. I didn't feel like spending $400 or whatever it was for the Taragana Translator and I don't know what the difference is between Global Translator Pro and the regular free Global Translator plugin that I did use. If you find something that does NOT create thousands of error pages like I described previously then it would be great if you could report back here as to what you used. Thanks Steve Quote:
