If you are newbie and are overwhelmed by all of the information out there, then this free report from Brynn Zuccaro, head of Google Business Marketing will be a huge help for you and give you a kickstart:

As well as containing great information such as showing you 10 ways to use the internet to grow your business, it has a very good 4 WEEK planner showing you what you need to be doing each week to map your online success, from setting up your website creating blogs and affiliate programs.

I think it is a excellent report from Google and will give you a good foundation to build your business on.

    A guide from 2011, really? Mind you, most of it still applies today, so not a big deal...

    However, how useful is it for "newbies" when it's clearly aimed at existing OFFLINE business owners who are just interested in expanding their business online?

      It's a good solid business plan and I can't see anything in it that doesn't still apply today.

      You answered your own question by asking why it was good for newbies. Whether they are offline businesses or wanting to start an online business it contains a really good route map as well as offering some sound advice and information. It also explains the basics of online marketing and advertising.

      The worksheets at the back are especially useful because it acts as a business plan which most newbies who come here don't give a thought about.

      It clearly isn't for you, but don't write it off for other people who could gain some useful knowledge from it (especially considering some of the questions that are asked here).
