Aweber terminated my account during the set-up phase

Hi,

Annoyingly, Aweber terminated my autoresponder account just at the stage when I was completing my autoresponder creation (no emails were sent!).

Thankfully I had no subscribers - but annoying.

I called their customer services team and said that I needed to send an email to bestpractices@aweber.com, which I have done but I haven't received a response from.

Does anyone know:

1. Why Aweber would want to cancel my account?
2. Recommendations on whether I should join another service - and if so - which one?
3. Are Aweber taking an Axe to clickbank affiliates to protect them delivery rate?
4. I am thinking about joining Infusionsoft (although I don't like the $2,000 set-up fee). Is this worthwile looking at?

My autoresponders consisted of:
1. 50 emails, 4 emails being sent out per week.
2. Promoting Clickbank products.
3. 40 emails had a calculated spam score of 0. The other 10 had calculated spam scores of 1.6.
4. No emails had yet been sent out. And I had zero subscribers.

Thanks,

alex

Sorry to hear that! Here are my answers:

    2. Recommendations on whether I should join another service - and if so - which one? I recently just graduated from Aweber to OntraPort and I couldn't be happier! It's much more robust and has sequencing for anything you can imagine. For example, if someone doesn't view your free video, you can send them a different follow-up message than if they do.

Basically all of the same functionality, no setup fee, same monthly cost (but more emails and subscribers at that price point!), and amazing customer service! I also love the OntraPort Facebook community... whenever I post a question I get an answer within minutes.

So many affiliates have ruined this for people because of being way to aggressive. Therefore if you're using links that don't go through your domain, it prob sends red-flags everywhere.

A better way to approach this, would be to create your own website, and send your traffic there. Once they're on your site you can send them out to the offers that way.

4 Emails a week isn't bad as long as you're not completely pitching the whole time. Focus on adding value and slowly ease them into a sale.

    Alex,

I am not sure why they would cancel your account. Why don't you email or call them and see what they say.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I don't know the answer to any of your questions but I do know that the so-called "spam scores" software on every autoresponder service I have ever used is a joke (worthless). Even though your spam scores were low maybe a humanoid saw too many red flags.

Aweber is one of the best auto-responders out there, so there's no need to panic and think about joining other services, when you still don't know the reason why terminated your account.

It could be something silly, a small mistake you could easily correct, etc.

And no, they don't have anything against Clickbank or promoting offers as an affiliate.
