Hi all!

Clicked in to take a break from setting up my site layout & navigation: where I'm going to put affiliate ads, what kind, how many; where AdSense is gonna go, marginal comment, that sort of thing.

I still hold with the old adage that a page should load in the shortest time possible on the computer with the least amount of DRAM, that's on dial-up or whose ISP provides only 1 week of rapid broadband/mo. Like satellite ISP's.

Just for the heck of it, one day I added ghostery to my browser and oh my. I couldn't believe how many loads there are on some site pages. Listings as long as 3 inches worth of tags, beacons, trackers, link loads, pop-ups, videos, and whatever.

Takes forever to load the entire page. I'll go to a paragraph that interests me, but the page jumps all over the place as different items grab their bit of load time. Man, I'm outta there, looking for another site with the same info.

That translates into no clicks from me.

Content is king alright, but a viewer's time is Almighty.

Back to work, see y'all later - Annie
