Finding Businesses Who Need Mobile Websites

Hello,

Is there an easy way to find businesses that need mobile websites?

I can search for something like "Restaurants New York" and test each site that comes up on my SmartPhone...

BUT

There must be an easier way?

Isn't there?

Thanks

I'd spend more time looking for small businesses that don't have a website at all and then offer to build them the whole lot. You could make more $$ that way.

I really wouldn't do this unless if they don't have a website by now they never will. You'llspend a lot of time and energy for little or no reward.

Your better off looking at companies that have sites 2/3 years old. Look for people that have previously spent money as they are easier to convert into buyers.

The big window for mobile sites has passed you could have got a lot of business out of the April googleslap.

If I were to be doing this now I'd look at new businesses. Also local press releases showing how local businesses are missing out by not being mobile.

I'm talking on personal experience only, but there are loads and loads of small businesses that want websites. In my first 2 months I found 8 different businesses purely from cold calling/visiting the store.

I think we forget that even in today's day and age people are not great with computers and wouldn't have the first idea on how to make a website.

Time factor is another thing, if you're running a business, who has the time to build themselves a website and then maintain and upkeep it.

Like you said, new businesses are also a great market and wth more and more people starting up everyday, there is always opportunities.

One last thing, there is a growing amount of people doing business on Instagram and Facebook who are crying for someone to build them an online store.

There definitely is a market out there, you just have to find the right people, and be prepared to get knocked back as well.

I don't know of an easier way. I do something similar ... and I do it by hand ... so, if you find an easier way ... share it!

You could do some "grunt work" offline and target local business owners (people are having great success with this... check the "offline marketing" section of this forum).

Or you could do some direct mail and SRDS, and target your prospects by their buying habits - or decide what they're looking for based on their previous purchase from their list owner.

I would do it the same way too, that is, look for websites and check if the are optimized for mobile devices. If you want an easier way, then hire someone to do it for you. it's a very easy task and I'm sure there are people who can do it for little money.

Well this wouldn't be to directly find websites that aren't mobile friendly, but this is a way for you to prospect in general...

Identify businesses that are running sms text marketing campaigns to drive business and communicate with customers about specials and promotions. I bring this up because if they're already doing some type of mobile marketing, they'll most likely be more receptive to your idea of incorporating mobile into their website design as well.
