Should I use separate sitemap for images

I am using wordpress for my blog.
I have enabled media(attachment) sitemap in seo by yoast plugin. Is it enough for image sitemap or will I have to use separate plugin to generate image sitemap.
Let me clarify. It is my sitemap url http://www.whatvwant.com/sitemap_index.xml
#images #separate #sitemap

Probably a good idea, but I doubt most people go to the trouble.

There's lots of ranking factors, and obviously the more you do, the better chances you have of ranking.

Probably the most important factor is 'time on site' which is, I think, a direct result of having great content targeted to the right audience.

    Hi Whatwewa,

This came from the Q & A section on the Yoast site:

Why does my sitemap show as type “images” in GWT?
Because images are contained within the sitemap, and Google Webmaster Tools then immediately shows it as type “images”. There is no “midex” type in Google Webmaster Tools at the moment.

It appears that it is already integrated into the plugin.
