What qualities should an Internet Marketer have? Also what are various steps one should take to market services online, other than using social media?

    This is a great question, in my opinion a great internet marketer should teach you the techniques that they are using in there business... Not ones that they ust to use 5 years ago!

    when it comes to marketing your services i would say that facebook video ads are the hottest method of cheap traffic right now, you should test it out!

    I have managed to get penny views pretty easily using this method!

    I'm gonna venture a guess and say that the VAST MAJORITY of people on this forum couldn't last a day in the "real world" - providing services to real businesses that expect real results.

    There are, however, some of us who actually provide services to real businesses with real contracts and real tangible results.

    My suggestion is to take a holistic approach to marketing - instead of taking and "either / or" approach, implement a fully integrated marketing plan. For example, I'm working with client right now who needs to improve brand awareness and website traffic. Instead of focusing on one way to do this, I've recommend a complete solution, including SEO, PPC, Amazon ads, and Social Media.

    I'm going to be paid very well for my efforts, to boot!

    Personally the first thing I would do is take out the word internet. The net is merely a channel for your marketing.

    With regards to qualities I would say the most important thing is to understand why people buy and not how to sell.

    Lastly (for now) think of yourself as a scientist and each bit of marketing is an experiment. Plan your experiement out and evaluate your results. Hypothesise changes and attempt to prove/disprove your hypothesis.

      Thank you "The Niche Man" for that EXCELLENT link. I checked it out and it hits the nail right on the head. Desire, dedication, perseverance, and the will to survive are critical for success in online marketing (and any real business for that matter!)

      Also thanks to "Quadagon". Marketing is marketing no matter where it happens. There are some quirks about marketing on the internet, but they can be learned.

      I would also look to find individuals whose names keep coming up and you can see that they have quality products to market and learn from them. Whether coaching or just buying a training product from them, you can pick up tidbits here and there. Good Luck in the future!

    Internet Marketers come in all shapes and sizes

    We are all very different, yet alike.

    I guess the one thing that sets the winners aside from the wannabe's is pure determination, consistent action taking, and a burning desire to succeed (well that's what I say lol).

    Other than social media, the obvious route is PPC - and the big G (google )

    I spend £3,000 per month (sterling GBP) on Google.

    A great Internet Marketer will have mechanisms in place to make money outside of this forum.
