Really depends.

You can sign up to do hop and hotelcombined to promote its pay per click offer. You can also build a custom affiliate website to promote individual flight and hotel comapny from affiliate windows, Commission junction for a much higher commission.

The first option is cheaper, I can provide one for you with hosting for just $100 with 12 months hosting.

The problem is that a lot of people will call directly the hotel and book via phone, so it's quite the "leak." Personally, I wouldn't promote hotels because I don't want to put in a lot of effort and not benefit from them.

If I were to enter the travel niche, I would just create/promote ClickBank products. Maybe some other products, but definitely not hotels.

I would not even bother with the Clickbank stuff. I'd look to create direct relationships with places like boutique hotels, restaurants, tour providers, car services, etc. and create bundled tours that can't be duplicated with simple phone calls.

The prospects would pay me and I would pay the various providers, pocketing the difference.

Look at an outfit like Vacations & Vacation Packages - Travel Destinations | Pleasant Holidays. Of course, you'd have to start smaller as a one-person operation starting out, but this will show you what I mean.

Domain Registration (enter amount)
Hosting (enter amount)
email autoresponder service (enter amount)
content, if outsourcing (enter amount)

Add all amounts and anything else you might need for your business, such as a premium theme or a custom design for your website. You might also want to buy solo ads for your list.

We really do not know everything you need so just make a list and add up the amounts and that will give you what it will cost for your website

If you are using wordpress here's an off the top estimate

Domain- $10
Hosting - $4-$10/m
Premium Wordpress Travel theme- $30- $100

Or you can use wix cost $10/m

I had a travel website, $10 for the domain, and hosted on a free webhosting site, like weebly.com

Starting a website is easy, Building up an audience with traffic is the hard part. Sticking with it while you see no visits or income is the hardest part.

Step 3: Make sure you're CURATING not RIPPING OFF. Big difference.

Step 4: Duplicate the traffic trails of already popular content. There are free tools you can use to do this.

Step 5: Pull traffic from forum posts, reddit, tumblr, you name it
