HELP: RSS Feed and How to Get Traffic From Them?

Ok I've heard about using RSS Feeds to promote your website and get traffic from it but my understanding is very limited and I have no idea how this is done.

Would someone mind explaining the process of this and the best way to utilize this method to generate some traffic?

You can start blogging and use Blogger or Wordpress - they provide RSS feeds automatically. Then you can subit those feeds to feed directories. You can read tons of info on RSS for example here: RSS Directories

Submitting RSS feeds is a good way to increase your subscribers, visitors who visit the concerned directories may enjoy reading and thus decide to visit the parent websites.
Also, there can arise a possibility where interesting feeds may be syndicated by fellow webmasters within the same niche. This can bring traffic from their website and at the same time there are possibilities of getting one way links too.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your replies, but what I dont really understand is the process of RSS feeds. Like how do you get one for instance? I wan't to drive traffic to my actual website can I do that with RSS? If so what would be the process?
