how to start affiliated marketing?

hey im a college student i want to start affiliated marketing online i have a wordpress blog but idk what should i write about? amazon has a affiliate marking site is it a good idea to join them? im not the best writer but i like to write any ideas? thank you

    Amazon is the most trusted seller online, (IMO)

    But...They pay very low commissions.

    I'd suggest figuring out what you are really interested about first, then searching for products that pay a high commission and solve problems for people interested in the same area.

    As a STRONG suggestion, start writing your posts the same way you would write on your blog. Think about punctuation, spelling, grammar, etc. You don't have to be perfect, but if you practice proper writing, you will become a better writer.

    If you are using your blog for affiliate marketing, you got to start creating content now and building your list at the same time. You mentioned that you like to write, so start right now and improve a long the way.

    You may not see the result when you just start out, but as ineedow said, it'll help you out and you'll see consistent result in the long run.

    1. Do not use wordpress.com because they'll disable your for profit site.

    2. Think of what you love. A passion you have.

    3. Sign up for clickbank for free.

    4. Search the marketplace for something related to your choice from step 2 (youtube how to use clickbank for help on this)

    5. Write relevant articles that are great and have useful content while at the end mentioning your product

    6. You also need to start a list if you really want to market. Still it's not required but sort of dumb not to.

    I'm new but these are the basics

    First of all decide that you are serious about building a business online. If you get into IM with the Get Rich Quick mentality you will burn yourself out. So understand that it takes time to get over the learning curve. Second , rather then learning things the hard way on your own as I and many other had to, it's always suggested to find somebody that is probably more experienced then you so you can get a basic understanding on how internet marketing works. It's all about getting systems in place and understanding the process through taking action. To keep it simple all you will be doing is finding a hungry niche that you enjoy working in and providing solutions to your prospects. Remember you are building a business not only to make money but to help people out, something to remember.

    First of all choose a topic that you love most, then create a blog, create some good related contents, increase blog traffic, build email list, then work with affiliate products related to your niche. As you're newbie, i would suggest you to write Digital products review for quick success.

    Try and build a list of subscribers that you can market to over and over. Don't go for the quick sell because that will not be sustainable. I tried that before and I can promise you that it doesn't work.

    1) List down all topics you're PASSIONATE about (stuff you'd write about for FREE)

    2) Get keywords for those topics on Google Keyword Planner and see which get DECENT monthly search volumes. Delete the rest.

    3) Filter the keywords based on COST PER CLICK projections using Google Keyword Planner.

    4) Finally, go to Google and enter your keywords and delete keywords with too many competing pages.

    Focus on the topics related to your remaining keywords

    Look on Clickbank or JVZOO and find some products that you are passionate about that pay out a high commission. If you create value in your blog and offer good information about these products and include your links, you can make sales and build your list. If you are going to blog it is best to find products that are going to be around for a long time.

    Write about whatever you are skilled at or a hobby of yours. Find a product to promote that's related to what you are writing about and keep writing. You won't make any money right away but with persistent content you'll get a lot of traffic to your blog. Make sure to ping it every time you add content to let search engines know that you are updated.

    Amazon can be a good place to start (do your homework to make sure they'll actually pay affiliate commissions to you in your region/state, though). However, you could potentially make a lot more working toward ONE (to start) of the ideas mentioned above.

    Instead of looking around for products and affiliate networks, you might consider what you are passionate about and can help others be it solving their problems or offering them what they want.

    Besides you, they also have to be just as passionate as you and most importantly, willing to spend money so that you can earn.

    Amazon is one great place you can started out researching online.

    So are places like Clickbank, Ehow and Wikipedia.

    You can also do offline research by watching TV programmes, reading books and magazines in your local bookstores on your favourite.

    Or you can get connected with other like-minded people in networking events organized at sites like meetup.com

    Let me give you an example for your better understanding.

    Say I have a passion for cooking.

    If I zoomed in further, I like to learn how to cook Hokkein Mee which is one of our all time favourite dishes in my country Singapore.



    It is fried noodles with bean sprouts, squid and prawns.

    So what did I do?

    I do research on-and-offline for everything I can find and teaches me and others how to cook this dish and what ingredients I need.

    Next I create a blog compling all this information. I also connected with other bloggers say in cooking niche via blogging and relevant cooking forums like this.

    My goal is 2 fold

    1. To create and give as much information as I can about cooking delicious Hokkein Mee and best places to go for Hokkein Mee.

    2. To build a network of passionate followers who like this dish as much as I do.

    Once I got a network of say 100-200 followers, I will find a relevant affiliate program that teaches how to cook noodles and other dishes.

    Can be from Amazon, Clickbank or other network.

    I can create a sqeeeze page and banner linking to it. I will also include an affiliate programme banner in the download thank you page.

    I will also do Facebook promotions like running ads for just $5 per day, setting up Fanpage and group to invite my network of friends who like this dish and cooking other dishes to like and join.

    Here is my summary:

    1. Find something you like

    2. See if others like what you like and will spend money on.

    3. Do research on that topic on-and-offline.

    4. Get connected to a group of like-minded people on-and-offline

    5. Create a blog and funnel those people via your link.

    6. Find relevant affiliate programs, set up a squeeze page and email autoresponder.

    7. Link the people to your squeeze page link directly or through your blog.

    It does not have to be cooking but any other niche you like and others like and willing to spend money on as well.

    I am just using cooking and this diagram as an example.

    Join several affiliate network,
    amazon, clickbank, Jvzoo

    Select up to 5 product on the same niche
    Create a fan page on facebook

    Post value posts about the niche you´re selected
    you must use a high quality image with the post

    Put an affiliate link at the end of the post
    Advertise that post using facebook ads

    Once you have make profit duplicate the process with
    another affiliate link, other product.
