4 Things for a Successful and Sustainable Business

I know this is very simple but I trust that we mainly have to do 4 things when we do a business with a long term plan.

1) Offer a good service to existing clients

This is vital to run a business for a long term. Finding new clients and adjust with them may be harder than work for existing clients that we already know well.

2) Find new clients

Although when we have plenty of clients no one give a guarantee that they will be with us tomorrow. So it's always good find new customers to maintain a solid income.

3) Promote the business

This is relate with the second point. I think that we need to spend at least 10% of our income to promote our business.

4) Update our knowledge and skills

It's important to have an up-to-date knowledge to offer an outstanding service to our clients and it's related to any kind of business.

Do you guys have anything to add because I like to know your ideas on this

    1. Create or Find a Uniqueness That Separates You From The Crowd.
Hint: Do things your competitors don't like to do ... that your prospects like. There's a lot.

    2. Brand/Position Yourself so well in your niche, that when people think of a specific product or service need ... they think of you.

    3. Build a List of prospects who you give fanatical/insane customer service so exceptional they'd have to look hard to find it anywhere else.

    4. Out Work Your Competition. You'd be surprised how well that still works because most of your competitors won't be able to keep up. Most are expecting Easy, Convenient and Fast.

    Stick with a topic.

You can branch out later. But at the beginning, get known for one thing you're really good at. If you were a PPC expert two months ago, a video marketing guru last month, and now you're an email writer this month, nobody's going to take you seriously. Every time you change ideas, you go back to zero.

    I would like to add:

    5) Automate the business as much as possible.

I think this is very important - as it gives you time freedom, and keeps you sane. The more you can automate your online business, the better. In some niches/businesses online..... you can automate things to the point where you're running your business from your Android or iPhone.

It's equally important to grow your team with the best skills when you're growing your client base. Also, it's easier and faster to hire someone with newer skills than learn them yourself.

    FOCUS HIGHLY ON CUSTOMER SERVICE

It will do absolute wonders for your business and will activate the best type of offline marketing, word of mouth.

You provide a good service and go above and beyond your client's expectations, they will be a customer for life and bring in new clients too.

You nailed it on the head regarding targeting existing clients

A bird in the hand, when it comes to online business, is worth a hundred in the bush

With that said, TARGETING is crucial

    I can't emphasize this enough.

Whatever offer you bring to your existing clients must be CLOSELY RELATED to the subject of their previous engagement with you.

Anything less would be, well, SPAMMY and could only ERODE your relationship.
