Never enough money...

I just saw a thread here where someone said that they would feel depressed at making $1,000,000, and wouldn't feel accomplished.

At what point do you have just enough money to feel satisfied and to feel successful at internet marketing.

It seems the threshold goes up the more you envision.

I can't imagine that a person who dreams of making $10,000,000 a year would be satisfied at that amount.

After all, if you are making $10,000,000 how would that be enough money? Why not strive for $100,000,000?

But why stop there, why not $1,000,000,000.

It's ludicrous.

It would be like chasing a desert mirage. You will never catch it. It is always a few feet away.

I remember when I started out when I thought that I would be happy making $3,000 a month.

I told a blogger that and he was laughing so hard at me...

Now I want hundreds of thousands a year.

I didn't realize how greedy and vain I have become, until I did some self analysis.

Tony Robbins talks about this with the king who finds a lamp that doubles everything.

The lamp keeps doubling the amount the king wants until the king gets fed up and goes crazy...

he, he ... I hear a lot of people quote that, from "A movie"by the way. Did anyone watch the end of the movie. Gordon Gekko didn't end up so well. And most people who live by that quote don't either. Just sayin'.

Yes - but look at who is "envisioning". Not saying it to be rude but the other thread and this thread appear to be dreams of people who are not yet self supporting.

Dreaming big is easy - living the dream is a different topic altogether.

I've been away for awhile, but since coming back I see a lot of that going around.

I distinctly remember a quote "Money can't buy you happiness but it can get you damn near it!"

Different strokes for different folks I'd say!

Actually he was talking about having a goal of making $10mm-$20mm over like 10-20 years, not in a single year and that a goal of just getting to $1mm isn't really that rich after taxes.

I'm going to assume most people posting those stale quotes are from people who don't make a lot of money.

I understand your problem, if you owed the banks $2,000,000, you would still feel depressed at making $1,000,000, and wouldn't feel accomplished.

To me it's just normal to strive for a higher goal. It's not the money, it's attaining to a higher level of accomplishment and enjoying the rewards for the effort.

Why would anyone want to just stop at 3k a month after arriving at that? When you're broke, yeah, thinking you'd be content with that makes sense, but you have that estimation of your own contentment level because you do not currently have that level, and you think reaching that level will be hard (and it probably will be).

But then you achieve the goal and have the experience and the work ethic and so on built up...the possibility of doubling that income now seems much more possible, so of course you'll shoot for that and beyond. Why wouldn't you?

I'm content right now, but will I stop trying to make more money - more this year than I made last year? Hell no.

Endlessly working for money is certainly bad but that doesn't mean someone should remain satisfied at whatever level he is on, but I know what you are talking about, It's becoming more of a trend in this market..

You my friend are absolutely true, but it's kinda good to have a grid as long as you can control it otherwise what's the meaning of all the money that you make with your efforts!
