    What's a website clone?

As in you copying someone else's site to turn into a niche site?

Are you thinking that if you straight up copy a site sitting at #1, without changing it, that you'll be #1, too?

That's what I'm getting from your post, could you explain what you mean?

Are you talking about a popular site clone? If so, usually those clones are not mobile ready. They load slowly and don't pass Google's speed, or mobile test.

If you're talking about a regular WordPress blog - using the same theme and organizing the site the same (provided you've checked the speed and mobile tests - and they perform well) modeling a successful site is a good idea.

If you're talking about say setting up your own daily deals site, but a niche one instead of a general one like Groupon. I would say the odds are very much stacked against you.

Many people go this route , but unless you have something unique to offer getting traction would be difficult.
