A New Site I Have been Working On?

I like this page as a blog page but I would be looking to create a landingpage for it. Also, the footer seems a little long. I would either put the categories in the sidebar or use a drop-down category widget. Otherwise, cool site!

Mr. Murf,

I would dump the animated gifs - "flashy" things are too distracting.

Also, it looks like you don't have a lot of focus. Internet marketing is a huge market and generally if you try to bite off such a wide reaching subject, you end up appealing to no one because folks search for specific things.

The style of your site is dated, but that is easily fixed with a professional theme.

There are a lot of good things about your site.

I totally agree with Mr. Steve. This site has zero focus.

Honestly, when I got to this page I started reading the screen that talked about YouTube Somethingorother, and before I could read it, the darn thing changed. That blew my petard right from the start.

Then I felt two overwhelming feelings. The first was total confusion, and the next was the idea that I was dealing with a "jack of all trades and a master of none".

Unless you're living on the Internet 24/7/365, you can't possibly be an expert in all of the areas of Internet marketing that you are presenting on your site.

You have got to zero on a specific and tight niche.

How do I know? I've already made the same mistake as you. It hasn't been until recently that I've built a new site and started all over again .

The upside to this is that your marketing gets much simpler, more focused and even cheaper.

Need Proof? Think about these IM gurus:

Jon Morrow - Blogging
Neil Patel - Built individual online businesses but each was very focused on a particular niche
Jon Carlton - Copywriting
Andre Chaperon - Autoresponder expert
Peter Spaepen - relationship building
Eben Pagan - Info products on dating and relationships
Jeff Walker - Product launches

Each very successful individual had a very focused product or niche.

Once you focus and put all of your effort into one niche, you can offer a product or a service (recommended) at the onset. Once you're successful add niche products and services.

You can always find another tightly focused niche later.

The site design resembles the type of beginner sites vendors sell on Flippa.

The intent (from your original post) and what the site is really doing are two different things. You've added articles in order to sell affiliate products. Are the articles unique? If not, then you've wasted your time. If they are unique you may get some traction in Google if you beef up and promote each post. Once you get traction you can build on (and expand) the same type of articles and keywords.

Elmo that site almost gave me a seizure & a much needed laugh. I actually lost my cursor in it.

I'm no expert in web design but as a new visitor to your site I agree with Steve & Elmo. I was overwhelmed as to where to go when I landed on it and as they mentioned the flashing gifs were distracting. Reading the (what I thought were articles) were all sales pitches with a buy now button.

You also may want to consider how it looks on mobile devices.

In the end it just comes down to knowing your demographics and what your user base likes and build your site around that. Your get endless replies all with different suggestions.

You need to simply start sending some traffic after you got her all set and see what she does. There is always an optimization process that needs to take place when building from scratch.

Remember, first go for the value then the sale will happen naturally which is what we want today.
