Alexa vs Similarweb vs Quantcast vs Compete

Hello folks,


I was actually studying the demographics and ranking of a certain website and this is what I came up with from Alexa, Similarweb, Quantcast and compete.




Now this is what's confusing me, whom to trust ?
I need your opinion guys!

Also is there any other more accurate source of getting demographics and rankings ?

    Wow, that's a huge difference to have man, I would go with Alexa because that's kind of highest authority site among others, juts my opinion btw..

    ALL of those have their own data sources, and NONE of them is complete - and then they all have their own ranking algorithms for ranking that data.

    Their value is limited and only has merit if you use the same tool consistently. Always use the same tool to compare the rankings between 2 or more different sites and/or to compare the rankings of a single site for different points in time in order to identify trend(s).

      I actually wanted to know about the no of visits per month as accurately as possible and where do these visitors come from.
      I didn't get any info about that, but surprisingly got a huge difference in their ranking and bounce rate as well.
      Which makes me think which one's more accurate bcuz I'm thinking of upgrading to premium membership to get the complete demographic data.

    There would be some discrepancy but I didn't think it would be this much! Are there any specific fields or parameters you are wanting to uncover by this research?

      Yes I wanted to get an idea of the no of visits per month and where do they come from.

    Never knew that there were other sites that measure internet traffic. I have always thought as Alexa as the premier internet traffic authority. Would try those other sites you have given and give a reviews later.
