Why Most Marketers Fail: Niche marketing's obvious secret

ONE of the main reasons why people struggle to make money online off niche blogs and niche lists is they have the process in REVERSE.

As in COMPLETELY REVERSE.

Instead of finding traffic first, they build a site first and hope the traffic somehow someway materializes

Talk about making things unnecessarily hard on yourself.

The good news? Regardless of how seemingly dull, boring, esoteric or 'weird' your niche target is, there are places on the Net where people are already TALKING about your niche either directly or Indirectly.

Where are these places?

Facebook groups
Facebook fan pages' walls
Subreddits
Subforums
Twitter hashtags

Notice the pattern? People are communicating in the not-so-obvious areas of online destinations that otherwise have HUGE CURRENTS of traffic.

So what's the obvious secret?

Here it is

1) Find the traffic first

2) Study the traffic or ask them what they are looking for

3) Create a destination page or site that caters to real articulated needs

4) Tweak to build trust

5) Tweak to convert

6) Focus on building a relationship through a list

Good reminder ... and warning. Similar to the mistake many people building a site or blog first before they find traffic as you mentioned.

    Another mistake is ...
    • Writing a ebook before you find buyers.
    • Creating a product before you test demand.
    • Even signing up for an affiliate program before you've established a U.S.P that separates you from other affiiates selling the same or similar product.
Yes, the online marketing highway is littered with the dead bodies and hopes of people who ignored those rules you speak of. Everyone's in a hurry to get to the sexy stuff ... before they complete the foreplay (so-to-speak).

I always start by finding solid offers that I know convert and then build backwards. Direct link there to test if you dont know how good it is and then build behind it.

Yeah, I notice that many of the 'IM courses' out there ASSUME that people who buy them know how to drive traffic.

In fact, a lot of the info products focused on IM can be broken down into several steps but there's usually one that's left unsaid: "add traffic."

Just goes to show: no matter how awesome the mouse trap is, if it is placed where there are no mice, it's not going to pan out...

Selling is easy. Just keep the traffic coming in to your proven funnel sequence. I believe people want to be sold to.

Offer them life-changing information for free, and they wont do much of what you say. Charge a price for it - and now it has more perceived value. I wouldn't get mad off the hidden psychology behind why most marketers fail.... i would profit from it.

    You should too.
