Default No more whois protection for .in and .cn domains! Resale value of our domains may go down...

Indian and China Governments think they made a smart move by saying "hey, no more private whois for the domains anymore, if you publish objectionable content, we should know who you are". Anyway, this would only increase the number of fake address type-ins.

Quote:
There have been recent changes related to the regulations at National Internet eXchange of India (NIXI) and China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), the .in and .cn registries. NIXI and CNNIC will not allow the use of whois protection services for domains under their top level domain. This rule also applies to all third level .in registrations.

Name.com will no longer allow the addition of this free service to new .in and .cn registrations. Name.com is also required to disable the use of whois protection for .in and .cn domains currently utilizing this service. Per these recent policy modifications, the whois protection service will be disabled for all .in and .cn domains currently utilizing this service on August 18th, 2009.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please take all necessary steps to update your contact details for these domains as you feel necessary. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know. We would be happy to provide further assistance.

I'm sorry but I would never trust a domain from China anyway. They make google filter search results.
