Advice on what to tweak?

Newb here so I apologize for any protocol that I might be breaking. I DID read the post for new users. Not even worrying about my sig as yet as a result. :-)

So, I'm relatively new to Affiliate Marketing and I'm wondering if I should call it quits. I started trying to promote just one product. Had a landing page and posted Bing ads to get traffic. I got sign ups but no sales. I tried to do Adwords and Facebook but promptly got banned by both. Now I know what I did wrong there and got both accounts unblocked.

Within the past few weeks, I decided to widen my circle and I picked out about 8 products in total from different niches and different prices to promote. I researched them all and they all were relatively new (within last 3 months), had click through rates over 10%, sales over 1k, and EPCs of $10-$20. I'm running Bing ads for them all. I have about half direct linking to the offers and half through a landing page where I get signups. For each, I have multiple ads in the campaigns so that I can A/B test the ad content. I even then create multiple landing pages and A/B test those by sending the same ads to different pages.

After a few months and spending perhaps $200 on ads, I've had traffic, signups, but no sales.

What's really disheartening to me is when I go to send a campaign to my list (about 100 subscribers currently) I get very small responses. Click through of about 2%.

Really, I'm looking for just any advice here. I try to eliminate possible problems by diversifying but it's just not leading to any sales. I don't know what area to spend time and money on: selecting offers, ad optimization, landing pages...? Has anyone else been in this place? If so, what 1 or 2 things did you do that broke through and got your first sales?

Please note, not looking for a course or private coaching. Just looking for a little friendly advice at this point as I'm not sure where else to ask!

Thanks,

Brian

    Hi Brian,
List building & email marketing is a learning curve & takes time so patience is key. These tips will help you:

    - Learn how to write subject lines that subscribers want to open.
    - Learn how to write copy for your mails.
    - Build a relationship of know, like & trust.
    - Start a blog & do You Tube videos & put a face/voice to your brand. (So people get to know who Brian is).
    - Have a nice balance of information vs sales emails.
    - Choose products that will help your subscribers rather than just promoting rubbish.

The top marketers in your niche are email marketing masters. Set up a separate email account & learn subject titles/email copy/products that convert from them (do not copy/paste their content it's illegal). You'll get some great tips to apply in your own campaigns.

    Cheers
    Barry

First stop sending traffic directly to any offers. All traffic go to sqz pages.

Second, test your optin rate and tweak your landing pages for higher conversions.

Third, test all offers on thank you pages as bonus offers and see if any converts.

Fourth, try to use PPL offers to get back your ad spend and reinvest money to build your list.

Follow the advice given by @Barry for email marketing.

You said getting CTR of 2% from your subscribers. You have 100 subs now..... Imagine having 3000 subs and getting 2% CTR means 60 visitors to any offers daily. But more on next day as your list grows daily.

So, stick to the plan and do not get disheartened. Keep increasing subscribers.... sales will come

If nothing works out, the first thing I will tweak/completely change is my angle, that's what I have found to be the biggest determinant factor behind conversion improvement..

Thanks Deekay and CarynDavis. Good advice. I need to go back and look at my squeeze pages AND my angles. Rather than casting such a wide net, I think I need to go with just a few (3 perhaps?) and really concentrate on those angles and pages. I also realized I'm not doing it right in my squeeze pages in that I'm getting their emails and sending them on directly then to the offer I advertised for on PPC ads. I like your advice, Deekay, that I should offer a download on my thank you page and see what kind of response I get then. I think it's better to initially give away something free and then sell to them in emails as you said.
