Default Increased online security fears?

I don't know if others have experienced this but I'm seeing an increasing trend in customers who call my order phone to buy rather than buying online. In fact, while total sales remain about the same I've seen a decrease in online orders and an increase in phone orders.

This is a nuisance because phone orders have a lower profit margin. Are people in general getting more worried about security of online transactions?

I'm going to try security seals on my site and maybe even make the whole site secure with an SSL. When you're using Paypal the customer only gets to a secure page after clicking the order button. I'm thinking that with the new browsers highlighting secure pages and making them much more visible people are getting a lot more nervous about the issue.

I think it is related to trust not security. People are losing their trust to online order forms. They would like to hear the voice of a real person rather than reading squeeze or sales pages.
Try to add Online chat or Live support systems to your website. I am sure people will use it.

Thanks for your great view, Nikki!

Mahmood, your suggestion about a Chat Line is excellent. It's something I've thought about and now you've reminded me.
