PLR Content Shops - Still Used By You Guys?

I can write quite well (notice I didn't say good, lol!) and I'm looking into alternative incomes rather than ghost writing (one and done articles). Are PLR content shops still a worthwhile endeavor?

Do people still use them for their content (primarily email marketing I would assume)?

The idea of creating content and then being able to sell that content forever at a low price (rather than one and done) is very appealing.

One and done articles remind me too much of a "factory job" where I get paid based on my time.. and they'll never earn me more than what I am paid at the time I do them. It's not a building block career if you catch my drift.

The idea of a PLR store though, one where I add new content regularly and expand into more niches and fields, that has huge appeal for me.

The problem is... is that a dead market? Do people use PLR stores any more?

And yes, I'll do plenty of google searches before I start this endeavor but I always like to hear what my fellow warriors have to say.

In online world, Content is KING. So, generating content will be most important aspect of internet.

Yes, I would advise you to set up your PLR store for selling content. Moreover, you can use articles for bringing traffic to your store forever. So, your business model would be to sell content and use content to bring buyers.

In future, you can change format of your content like from articles to videos, audio, pdf, slideshare etc and diversify your income potential.

Focus on selling bigger content other than PLR articles. Sell ready-made web sties, ebooks, etc. Google's crackdown on duplicate content has made buying PLR articles less appealing nowadays.

But if you sell read-made sites that contain bunch of valuable stuffs other than text articles on it, you will have higher chance of making sales. I have bought one ready-made niche site just recently, through a PLR store. I edited and re-written the posts, and completely redesigned the layout, & voila! it was good!

It's good to know that you can write so good - LOL! Yeah, people still purchase PLR. I know marketers that make a full-time income and beyond from just their PLR stores. I should also mention that these people don't just sell small article packs. They do articles and product reviews, e-mail auto responders, blog posts, the occasional e-book and so on. Hey, you might want to check out this product called Writer Help Wanted by Ron Douglas (traditional author) and Alice Seba (PLR provider). Their course is about all the ways you can make money from your writing and what not.

Funny enough I was looking for something last night.

PLR stores will be making money for a long time to come, because IM attracts people who are not content creators and who don't have a lot of money to burn on having original material created for their marketing projects.

It also attracts people for whom English is not their native language and they want something that has an American writing style so they can target that country for optins and sales. PLR helps them break through the language barrier instantly.

Content is and will always remain....KING. For this reason there will always be people ready and willing to use PLR. It is a matter of quality when you get the PLR. You will also want to re-write some of it to make it 100 % unique.

I not only still sell it... but I thrive on USING it myself. It's not that hard to turn a PLR product into something of true quality if you just put in a little time and effort. It saves me hours of writing myself. You can break down content to create PowerPoint slides and videos...and use content for email marketing. There's lots of options that won't conflict with duplicate content.

I've been entertaining this idea for a long time now.

OP is right. The 'one and done' model is limited.

I think niche focus is the key. Also, specialty types of content (ie., type not niche).

This is definitely worth further research.

By the way, anyone know of a good WP theme that can be used for PLR stores?

Selling PLR is still a big business and I would expect it to be for some time to come. If you plan on writing everything in your store for yourself, then you may want to make it a niche PLR store. It's unlikely you can write on every topic proficiently yourself and the amount of PLR you can produce yourself in a multitude of categories is going to be limited. However, if you are willing to hire a team or you want to buy PLR resell rights to others' products, then a more general PLR store can do well too. Either way, if you enjoy writing and are interested in this type of business, you can definitely make money with it. Concentrate on quality.

PLR is the lifeblood of the IM industry.

People are making a good living on selling article packs of 10 x 400 word articles on various niches. Offerings differ and PLR packs do to, so do what you feel is easiest for you.

As you are a producer of content already, you just need to market yourself and you will never look back.

Follow your idea and just do it.
