Specific Flower niche a viable one?

My wife has a huge passion for orchids and after attending some real life events based around this I realized the ignorance so many enthusiasts of this niche have. They have soany questions and no idea how to do things.

Additionally, this is a consumables type of market. People need to buy product to support their hobby.

The only ideas I have are physical products via amazon but this seems like they will ALL be low end small purchases.

Alternatively, an ebook on growing them inside in a hot or cold climate (orchids will live years but are picky)...

What do you think and has anyone has any specific luck in these type of markets?

    Perfect. This niche is larger than you would suspect and the orchid lovers are a rabid bunch.

    I would say . . . dig in to the niche, do some research and see where there are gaps or "holes" in what is being offered generally. Check the orchid forums and see what the conversations are about and particularly note where people have frustrations, or problems, or desires for better information or products.

    Go to Amazon and see what publications are available in the field. Read them. Also look to see which books are written, what they talk about and see what is getting all the attention in the niche.

    You might even decide to niche down even deeper to a specific corner of the orchid market, like particular types or kinds of orchids, raising orchids, "breeding" orchids, selling orchids online, or any number of other specific topics where the online information is scanty, no well developed, or it just doesn't exist.

    thanks, i will take a look at it.
    Unlike large scale gardening stuff, there are no $400 mulchers in this niche lol. i will see what i can find.
