Would like input on my broker business idea

My directory is for a listing of teaching professionals within a certain industry.

I want to present the user a listing of local professionals and allow the user to sign up for one of the teacher's classes directly from my site. I would forward the student information to the teacher along with their charged fee so that they get paid. I could, perhaps, charge a commission to the listed teacher. I was also thinking of charging the teacher a monthly fee just to be listed.

I guess I'd be a broker of sorts.

Has anyone done something like this? What would I need to consider?

Thanks

Long time back, worked in such a project for home tutors. All local teachers were listed on the site with all details like qualification, age, experience, specialties, etc. Contact no. were provided once fees was submitted or registered for demo classes.

From whom did you collect the fees from? The tutors or the users?

Did the users pay any fees to use the site?

So, you are going to collect the money and forward it to the teacher?

Good luck with that. No one will allow you to collect their money, unless they are not smart enough to actually be considered a 'teacher' in any sense of the word. If you collect money for someone's endeavor without their permission, that called theft. If you forward the money, that's called, 'making advanced restitution.'

Talk to lawyer. You're going to need one for more than your business model. Line up a bail bondsman, also. :-)

I've already considered that. I figured it'd be easier to charge a membership fee plus a commission fee like how EBay does it. Buyer pays seller directly then EBay charges seller a fee later on.

And I would have the trainers sign up ahead of time. It's not like I'd come out of nowhere and say "pay me". Heh
