Using Blog Talk Radio to Build My List?

Hi all,

A couple of months ago, I created a BTR account but haven't done a show yet.

I'm primarily interested in doing shows to build my list. However, I'm not very familiar with BTR. I went in last night and created a profile and scheduled a show for next week.

How do people on the BTR site find out about my show? As far as I can tell, people would only know about it if 1) they were searching on the topic or 2) it was live and listed in the shows in progress section when someone logged in.

How do I let the traffic that the BTR site gets between now and then know about my new show? As I mentioned yesterday, I'm starting over from scratch and my list is very tiny. So sending notices to my current list about my new show won't help much. I'm looking to generate traffic and build my list.

How can I do that with a new show on BTR?

I would take regular traffic-driving strategies and drive traffic to your BTR page. Also, could you join some forums of the same topic? Use Twitter? See if you could interview someone and then they could email their list?

You could also make a blog about your BTR show about your topic and use that to drive traffic and listeners to your show.

I would like to know if that works out or not. A family member has a radio show and he does some serious businness on it. Very valuable.
