Using Blog Talk Radio to Build My List?

A couple of months ago, I created a BTR account but haven't done a show yet.
I'm primarily interested in doing shows to build my list. However, I'm not very familiar with BTR. I went in last night and created a profile and scheduled a show for next week.
How do people on the BTR site find out about my show? As far as I can tell, people would only know about it if 1) they were searching on the topic or 2) it was live and listed in the shows in progress section when someone logged in.
How do I let the traffic that the BTR site gets between now and then know about my new show? As I mentioned yesterday, I'm starting over from scratch and my list is very tiny. So sending notices to my current list about my new show won't help much. I'm looking to generate traffic and build my list.
How can I do that with a new show on BTR?
