I suspect that your idea is against the Clickbank TOS... One thing for sure you cannot set that up within Clickbank, which leaves you having to figure out a long winded approach of using the same affiliate id together with tracking codes to figure out the responsible source... However you going to have the following problems:

1) Your sub affiliates will not know if they have made a sale.
2) You'll have to wait a considerable time to reach payment thresholds in order to be paid and further you could lose the sale with returns within the guarantee period of 30-60 days etc.
3) Chances are your sub affiliates will figure out that you are sub promoting a clickbank product for less commission which otherwise they can earn a lot more by simply signing up to CB... I don't think anyone would be interested in sharing their commission for doing all of the hard work... With providing the affiliate link - its very obvious to anyone with half a brain that this is the case... Further many will see your idea as unethical...

Seriously this is not a good idea given that I am sure you will lose your Clickbank account for violating their rules and also I really don't see why anyone would want to take you up on your idea to work as a sub affiliate...

If I where you I would focus on making money as an affiliate without the need for second tier affiliates... Why not spend money on outsourced help, freelancers etc versus sharing out earned commissions...

I think I get the system that you are trying to set up.

Basically, you want to build a secondary affiliate program on top of Clickbank's affiliate program.

Regardless of whether it may be against Clickbank's terms of service, this idea is worth exploring.

You might be out of luck when it comes to Clickbank, but you might want to set up your own affiliate program and allow for multi-tier sub-affiliate programs.

The most practical application of this technology that I can see is when people run mailing lists and they use a system where people who become members of those mailing lists can also become affiliates.

This can actually be quite powerful in a multilevel marketing context.

Of course MLM has a very negative reputation, so you probably have your work cut out for you, but in terms of simple creativity this might have legs.

I can't say this the first time I've heard of this idea because in adult marketing, the whole idea of sub-IDs and sub-affiliates is actually quite old.

In mainstream marketing, this might have very powerful applications that cater to different marketing channels and marketing types.
