Monetizing a 2500+ list?

Hi guys.

Around 2600 of my subscribers have became fairly unresponsive to my MLM offers.

Originally these opted in to a 'MMO' lead page...but it seems they are not interested in my MMO programmes so I have moved them out of my main list.

How would you go about monetizing a list like this. Other affilliate offers/CPA?

Thanks
J

Start sending affiliate offers, if get some sales then segment your list into buyers or non buyers.
With non buyers start testing with PPL offers or send soloads.

After all testing remove all non clickers from your list.

Have you tried a survey? A plain simple email that asks them what they want to learn? If they don't respond to promotions, you can at least learn more about their needs, and then create a product for internal launch.

    Hey dude,

What do you mean by unresponsive? Are they not buying? Or simply not clicking any of your links at all or not opening emails all together? Depending on the answer would determine a more specific approach..

What I have found to often be a major reason for an unresponsive list, is unrelated offers.. Now i know you are sending them MMO offers (and the list is in the MMO niche) but a are the offers related to their SPECIFIC interest withing the MMO niche?

They signed up via your leadpage because they were interested in the specific problem you would be solving. For example ranking websites on page 1 of Google. If that was your initial lead magnet then you would get MUCH better results sticking to related products in your promo email follow up for eg: automated ranking software or "How to find high traffic, low competition keywords".

Again, hard to answer without more information..

Another thing you could try is sending them an incentivized survey poll. Here they can give you feedback on what THEY want to learn more about or their biggest pains, and for their feedback you can offer them the chance to win a new laptop, or phone etc (which you can send them to a CPA offer)

    Best of luck man

I would send other affiliate offers while of course tracking everything

You could use surveys to see exactly how you can serve them

Create multiple capture pages to segment them

For then non clicks you can use different headlines and send directly to them. Also a lot of the time if they are clicking, opening and not converting into sales they are usually freebie seekers... so you can send CPA offers or do adswaps using that part of the list.

Selling solos would be a great idea... then reinvest into finding profitable traffic.

The best way is to conduct a survey and finding out what your list is actually in to, segmenting them as per their interests and then start providing them whatever makes them move!

      Thanks for the replies!

When I say unresponsive....not many opens/clicks/replies from this list at the moment. (maybe around 5%).
Although I'm not sure whether this is an issue with my delivery rate from a new domain email address. I recently moved to Getresponse, and they are not very helpful with helping me figure that out.

To be fair I may be a bit premature in this. As i say the subsribers opted in to an MMO leadpage.....only within the last month. But the lack of response is rather worrying (so I'm kind of puzzled as to whether the leads provided to me, by a well known Solo ads vendor, are completely untargeted. Or it is in fact a problem with my email address/provider).

Although if indeed it is just the list being unresponsive I like the idea of doing a survey to determine which direction I should go.

Bit of a different question but any email experts out there suggest an email provider that may help my deliveries? Is it a big No-No to use a gmail address?

NEVER use a free e-mail address like gmail. Always go with a professional e-mail address via a domain name.

    Thanks.

I have tried to use my own domains with Getresponse, but the emails go straight to spam (I have some test accounts subscribed to my list to monitor this).

Were you using spam like keywords in the title of the e-mails? That could be why.

I read about this in an article a while back. To prevent e-mails from going into people's spam box, don't use keywords in the subject title like "free", "get rich quickly", etc. The system assumes those types of e-mails are spam and will get put in the spam box.

I agree with what a few others have said in this thread.

Survey your list and find out what they want. Then warm them up by giving them something (that they want) that is in line with what you'll be selling them soon. That should help your conversions because you're starting to form a relationship with that list.

On another note I have personally got rid of a 25k list because it was a waste of time & effort. That might be another option if you feel the same...

When I want to warm a list up in a hurry and get some feedback at the same time I have run a special Webinar with some big benefit headlines - put together a 30-minute course, teach it and then have a Q&A where you can get some very good feedback.

While only a small portion of your list may attend, I have always been able to get a much better read on your subscribers, and they will become much more active.

You can then post the webinar, get your attendees to post some comments and begin to build some momentum around even a dozen or so people.

Just remember the reason why those 2,600 people signed up to your list. They were all interested in something specific you were offering. Promote only related products so that you can be sure that all of them will be receiving emails about products they are interested in.

If you are already doing so, then you will want to filter out your list into active/inactive accounts, and further screen them into freebie seekers/buyer. This way, you will know what your list of 2,600 is truly worth because quality is better than quantity.

Also another factor to consider is where you got these leads from.

If it was from solo ads, these people are seeing multiple offers from the seller from multiple buyers so those leads attention is being spread thin. At that point it's "may the best marketer win."

Also, in many cases, people from the usual solo ads that are available to just about everyone are conditioned to opt-in to squeeze pages so you really need to either differentiate yourself from all the other people who are competing for their email inbox attention or get to them first before anyone else does.

How often do you email them? What is the product that you were trying to promote to them? Do you do any tracking?.... are these people even opening up your emails and clicking on your links? Also, how did you acquire these leads? What is the product price of the offer you're selling?

I second the survey idea. That's probably the best way to find out what to sell to your audience.

Doesn't matter what kind of relationship you build with your list if they aren't actually buyers.

A lot of split testing needs to be done, separate the people who open regularly (say over 5 emails) and then from there you can try and build a foundation with them.
