Hello

My name is Vinoth and I am from India, I been going through warrior forum for a while now. I always wanted to be successful in IM. So I tried Affiliate marketing, by getting a site and promoting a product but i was new to it and couldn't able to make it work. Then I started to learn more about it and i tried again but this time I know what to do but I don't know in which order I should do things so messed it up again.

What I like to know is what r the steps I need to follow to make a successful affiliate website. I am not asking for site that would make 100's r 1000's of dollars, I want the steps that I should follow to earn my first 1 dollar. It would give me the confidence to grow more in this field. I am working as a seo analyst so I know a bit about how to drive traffic and I am earning so starting a website is not problem for me. I would really appreciate any advice given to me.

Thank you

You need a Lead Generation System

    and a Qualification System

    and a Closing System.

These systems working together are called a funnel.

Having a "website" is not enough. That's a billboard in a desert by itself.

As an affiliate, you are being a matchmaker between a buyer, who has a problem, and a seller, who has the solution to that problem.

So how good of a job can you do of being that matchmaker?

You have to find that buyer...

    ...identify that buyer...

...and then it's the product creator's job to close that buyer.

You can warm the buyer up in the Qualification phase with your own content, eg. videos, pdfs, infographics that pre-sell the buyer on the solution. Then you send them over to the seller's sales page.

With this process you give up some control because you do not control the closing phase. That is something you just have to accept with the affiliate process. But you don't have to rely entirely on their sales page to do the work for you: with some warm-up content, you can give value and present your point of view on who is best for this solution, and why this product is best for solving their problem.

    Hi Vinoth,

As an affiliate marketer, here are the steps I would follow when promoting a product.

    1. Get a website
I would advise against promoting products using free sites and blogs. Why? Because if your site takes off and starts making you money you want to have full control over that site. Host on a free platform and you don't have total control.

    2. Find out what's selling
Go to Clickbank, Paydotcom, Bluesnap, MarketHealth, etc. and use their marketplaces to find out what products are selling well. Usually products that solve a pressing problem sell well. For example, lose weight, romance, make money, etc. Pick a product that you want to promote from here.

    3. Find out what people are looking for
Sign up for a Google AdWords account and check out the Keyword Planner tool. Enter keywords related to the product you have chosen to promote and you'll find what people are searching for. Dig down and look for "low-hanging fruit". What I mean is, find keywords that sound like someone is ready to hand over their credit card for a solution. For example, "Program to lose 20 pounds in a week" is probably a better keyword phrase than "How to lose weight" because there is more immediate intention behind it.

    4. Build pages on your website related to the keyword phrase you found
Add informative pages to your website related to the keyword phrase you found and include your affiliate link.

    5. Capture email addresses
Don't lose anyone that visits your site. Add a email capture box to your web pages and start building a relationship with your subscribers so you can send them relevant offers.

    6. Rinse and repeat

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Dave

If it is no problem to buy a website, you can buy a domain & hosting. As you know how to do SEO, so start SEO to increase your site traffic & page rank. Then you can sell your own products if you have, or, you can do Adsence or, even you can do the Affiliate program. Best of luck.

      Hey Vinoth,

Keep it simple as you can. You can pay others hundreds of dollars to have a site and a marketing funnel that looks like a million dollars and no one to show it too or you can just start again like I have.

If you check my join date, it was a long time ago. It looks like I have been very inactive here on the forum - which is most definitely the case. I am in the same boat as you my man.

I have listened to every other GURU out there and it has gotten me nowhere. I am just saying that you need to strip your business plan back to bare basics and start again. I don't mean from scratch. You need to change your mental picture of how IM is supposed to work.

I have made this great change recently and I just tell myself everyday that i will do something little towards my goal and eventually I will reap the rewards.

Alls, I am saying is that believe in yourself and change your mind and direction to change your future. I believe in you!

Hello. There are a couple of different approaches you can take. You can build a larger niche site with lots of product reviews and articles and build a list, or you can build a smaller niche site around a particular product. When you are starting out, I think it's better to focus on a larger niche site because, even if you don't do everything perfectly, you can still see results. If you try to build a smaller site without knowing what you are doing, there is a good chance you won't see success. When you are building a smaller site, the success of the site has a lot to do with the product you choose to promote.

For example, let's say you wanted to work in the health and fitness niche. Insanity by Shaun T. is a very popular product. There are lots of keywords you could use to make money promoting this product. If you decide you want to build a larger niche site, getting ranked for just a few keywords -- even if you're not on the first page of Google -- will still bring you traffic. As you add more reviews and articles, you're site will continue to grow. You'll also have a list when building a larger site, so you can promote different products to them and make more money.

If you try to start out making a smaller site and don't get ranked for enough keywords because you don't know what you're doing, you won't make any money. Do you see the difference?I would not recommend making a smaller site in a different niche until you've got money coming in from your larger site.

    Hi Vinoth,

If you follow the basic steps listed by fellow warriors i'm sure you will definitely get success as long as you give it enough time to grow.

One additional point you will want to look into is how profitable and large the market is for the product you have been promoting. The methods you were using so far could be right but if you picked a product that has a very small buyer's market you wouldn't be seeing much results as well.

  • Have you considered going through a training program? You don't have to, as many have given you great advice here, but there can be advantages. If you do a search for Wealthy Affiliate, you can check them out. I have been a member for a year and have learned a lot and continue to learn more.
You can sign up for free for 7 days and they won't even ask for any payment info. The training is great and if you do decide to upgrade to a premium membership your web hosting is included for up to 25 domains. There is also excellent support and a great community willing to answer any questions you have.
    Just a thought.
