There's already a star ratings system.

    EDIT:
It seems that the star ratings system has been removed.

available only to buyers of the product or service in question.
How would you do that? It would need some linking between sellers
website/database and the Forum. Not easy to do, maybe even not possible.

While I think factual, balanced feedback is important in the WSO section, I'm just not a big fan of the anonymous approach.

One - there's no obligation to bicker. Folks have the option to participate in a back and forth slanging match...or not. Two - introducing anonymity into the process just invites manipulation with competitors trying to tank someone's product and hiding their identities. It's just too tempting for the less savory among us.

Transparency is key. We have to stand up and be willing to mean what we say and say what we mean.

The star rating was removed for abuse (I believe). In other words, it's very easy to have your friends vote you up and your competitors down. Anonymous proxies, etc. add to the problem.

    I like it as is.

The best review system is our own due diligence.

Research the buyer - look at posts/threads they've made. Look at comments in their previous WSO's (you can use Warriorplus.com to do that).

Taking the time to do that can save frustration - and money. It can also lead to some great buys.
