What Happens after you hit Big Time for your Keywords?

Once you hit the top of the google pile for your a select group of Keywords, can you stop building links for those particular keywords and just check the pile periodically to make sure you are top dog?
And go focus on other keywords?

Or do you need to keep that puppy barking constantly with link building?

      I agree I have been doing backlinking for almost a year and I noticed once I get to the top if I stop for a bit then the competition comes swooping up and knocks me off my top spot...so dont stop for a minute...unless you want to lose what you earned...good luck! -Mike Linley
