Domain vs Sub Domain

I am planning on launching a how to authority blog.. please i am confessed between using a sub domain or category for the blog. what i mean is something like tech.domain.com or domain.com/tech

please i will appreciate your help

    tech.domain.com kindda looks ugly

    You may do something like this

    domain.com/blog
    domain.com/portfolio
    domain.com/about
    domain.com/contact

    etc

      What is going to be on the root of the domain that requires the blog to be elsewhere?

      A blog would be best placed as domain/blog as this is the typical place people expect to see a sites blog.

      sub-domains could be used if you want to expand your site into other major topics and thus emphasize the new topic in the url subniche.domain

    use domain.com/blog
    because it better represent that whatever you have in your domain has related blog. Mean domain.com/blog shows better relavance. instead blog.domain.com represent a separetation from the main domain content.

    I am using wordpress CMS to develop it, which makes it a blog. what i mean is the topic, like tech, health etc so would it be better i create a category or use a sub domain. health.domain.com or a domain.com/health/
