What should I do with LOSER websites?

Luckily, the first website I ever made is doing really good (July, it made >$600), BUT I have a website that I'm thinking was a big mistake.

I have less than $100 invested in it, but I'm still not sure if I want to give up on it yet.

The site is BestWaysToLearnSpanish.com. I'm not afraid to give away the niche because I know how common of a niche it is.

The content on it is good, but the main affiliate product, Rocket Spanish, is apparently not so good. After googling "Rocket Spanish Affiliate", I saw a few warrior forum results that were saying the product is a no-go (and perhaps the niche is a no-go).

So what do you think I should do. Should I just ditch this niche and let it collect dust? Compared to my other sites I'm really having a tough time picking rankable buyer-keywords. I'm not so sure I'll be able to rank this site in the learn-Spanish niche.

Hope you guys can help!

Thanks
-Doug

How much traffic does it get? You could use Google Adsense to make a little bit...

Pretty much nothing. The site is only a few months old and didn't get good rankings yet. I did add some adsense. If this site can pay for itself without any maintenance, I'd be happy

I'm not a fan of the site design and layout. Looks like an obvious attempt to get some cash. But if your $600/month site looks similar, then mimic the marketing and see how it does. And see if you can find a product better than Rocket Spanish. Give it a week of hard promotion, then make a decision to cut it loose or not.

Have you thought about changing the product to Rosetta Stone? it's an incredibly good software to learn languages ( a friend of mine has learnt russian with it) and they do have an affiliate program, although I don't know if they have any special requirements.

Worth an email at least IMHO.

I've heard bad things about Rosetta. The Amazon review are especially sketchy. Fluenz or pimsleur seem like the best imo. I don't think they have affiliate programs though.

Nope. The $600 a month site looks like a proper brand/authority. With this site I was testing out the concept of not spending much time on the design in the beginning and focussing on content. I do see your point though.

I worked in the niche when I first started niche blogging because I was a Spanish major in college. I found the niche a bit slow for my taste (not too many products coming out). People seem to use the same, old products. As for whether or not a particular product is good or not, I came to learn that in this niche, it has a lot to do with how a person learns, as to whether or not they like something. There has been a product or two that people raved about that I couldn't stand because of the way it's taught. Have you tried the product yourself?

For Rocket Spanish, I've tried the demo and have done plenty of research on its effectiveness. It's got some great features and learning tools. The only downside is that it's design isn't up to par with big names like Rosetta and fluenz. I think the brand unawareness of rocket Spanish could be a problem.

Give it a last try - make it a tutorial website.

There are many themes, apps, plugins out there which will help you achieve this goal.

For learning a language, people like to go through a step-by-step process. Make videos out of your articles, break it down and get rid of the reviews - travelling/ culture - apps and games pages. I mean, your website is teaching Spanish so don't confuse your visitors by adding irrelevant content/ pages.
