Is RSS Feed Syndication Dead For Traffic Generation

I am seeing the RSS feed directories and syndication sites are shutting down. Is RSS feed syndication for traffic dead?

I know, right? They all seemed to have disappeared! But don't get rid of that feed just yet. It can still be used to share info with other sites, like social sites, sites that syndicate, etc. Then there's the IFTTT website (http://ifttt.com/) which can do even more with a feed.

Yep, that is probably one of the best ways to use your feed to help you get traffic.

I use also use IFTT and connect my blog feeds to Twitter, Facebook, Diigo, Delicious, Tumblr, etc.

Dlvr.it is another one you can hook up your feed to and send it out to social sites on auto-pilot.

I use RSS feeds as a service to my users, at least to those that know what they are and how to use them. Still a better way to get a site's updates and content than social networks and it's what I personally use to follow sites I like.

But for traffic generation, well, that has gone to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram... for most people anyway. IMO, don't bother with RSS if you don't have another use for it.

Google Panda 4.0 (Google officially rolled out Panda 4.0 on May 20, 2014) were designed to push down sites with poor quality content, which I believe RSS feed directories and syndication sites.

I use Inoreader, to subscribe to the RSS feed of all blogs and sites, I gain valuable knowledge and insights from.

However not every piece of content is relevant to me and so being able to filter site RSS feed content into ones that interest me from a central location is key to my reading and backlinking strategies.

It may not be sexy but it works well and is relied upon by many people to organize and optimize their time.

I am creating a wordpress blog but I intend to fill it with content from other sites via a rss feed plug in.

I want to ask in terms of copyright would I be infringing on the original writers of the blog posts even if I have a link within the post which shows where the source article is from and or show the writer of the article.
Also is there some kind of disclaimer I could put on my site to protect myself?

NOT LEGAL ADVICE, just my opinion!

First, depends on the license. If it's copyrighted, you have the right to link/mention them or make an excerpt, as in news reporting (or think of a Google search result, which consists of a link, a title and one or two lines, that usually falls under fair use), but not to redistribute the whole content. You'd have to ask for permission. If it's licensed under Creative Commons or other similar license, it varies, but you usually can use and share the content, sometimes even commercially.

Look at the sites' footers for the license type and act in accordance.

And no, a disclaimer won't protect you from anything illegal yo do (not saying you are doing or going to do such a thing, just pointing out that a disclaimer won't excuse you of your acts).
