I Have A List Of 100k+ -- Looking For Affiliate Products To Promote

I have a list of over 100,000 people extremely interested in word games (eg. Scrabble and Words With Friends) and learning foreign languages. My list is extremely engaged/active, but looking for some high-quality products in the word game or foreign language space. Obviously, the more data the advertiser can provide (past performance, EPC, swipe, etc.), the better.

I run a site that gets quite a bit of traffic and acquired these emails from email opt-in forms. I did not buy any emails. All organic.

What is the source of your list? Is it acquired by you? Is it outsourced? If outsourced, forget about it. It would not work anyways…

Looks like the OP is a little timid to reveal where he acquired the List ?

      Or possibly embarrassed ?

      Here's your genuine answer:

Build your own list in an ethical manner. Purchased lists are not targeted, do not respect the privacy of list members, will often get you in trouble with your email hosting company, and should be avoided at all costs.

      There you go.

I could build a better list than your 100k list for you today. How much did you pay for the 100k list?

Literally, a list with 1 or 2 targeted opt-in is probably better than your 100k list.

I'll even give you a money-back guarantee if you don't make the same or more money from the list you buy from me and your 100k list.

    Start the bidding.

I have a couple more burning questions I'd like answered: have you actually imported this list into an autoresponder and have you sent out any emails to this list before?

If so, what was the open rate and did you receive any complaints?

Based on the above, I'd guess it's their list and that they've been mailing already. Now, whether they've been marketed to or not is another question.

There are some good questions in this thread, and also plenty of cynicism and skepticism. All of which could be cleared up...but not until the OP logs in again.

Thanks Lance. You were pretty much the only person not to assume the worst. I built the list 100% organically (my website that provides Scrabble and WWF help) and have been emailing them 1-2x per week for over a year (both autoresponders and 1-off newsletters). I do get quality open rates (35-50%), but have not really been selling much (my products nor affiliates), hence why I wanted to open this thread.

I'm sure my response will open up more replies from bored "internet marketers" claiming I used Fiverr or they could make more money with just 2 emails, but hopefully some real replies (like Lance's) come through.

      Thanks.

        Thanks for clarifying.

With the increasing amount of low quality posts around here, it's not surprising that a lot of people are skeptical and/or cynical.

Your post was pretty vague, but the tone of responses isn't entirely your fault. Mainly a product of the current state of the forum. In the future, just try to be a little more thorough in your OP and you'll be much more likely to get helpful replies.

Agree it was vague, but I didn't want to disclose everything off the bat to people I don't know, especially as I'm new here, which was mentioned quite a few times.

Anyways, as somebody newer to affiliate marketing, I'd love some help with to point me in the right direction on...

          1) Places or people to talk to in order to find high-quality affiliate products; I know affiliates get referral credit for referring others often, so win-win

          2) People in the word game or foreign language space

          Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I'm a big fan of "Words With Friends". Hope I won't get an email advising me to buy a product or something, Really! If you think you have a list of 100K emails you'll get some sales frrom it then you're so wrong!

I guarantee you I could make sales to a list of 100k+ who were interested in word games and learning foreign languages. And I won't even email them.

People in this thread seem to be hung up on thinking that the OP purchased this list and is going to spam them. Maybe so, but maybe not.

    Tapptapp,

I doubt there are going to be any Warriors in your space (niche) that are going to see this thread so I wouldn't count on having them share past performance and all the shortcuts you're hoping to find. Why would they open up their business to a competitor?

I also doubt that anyone reading this thread is going to go out and do the research and legwork needed to answer your questions.

What you're asking is answered when you do market research in your niche. Many, many people skip this step. But by doing the research yourself you will uncover lots of important information about your audience and what they want, what they will buy, and what they are currently seeking that they aren't finding.

    So I would ask:

What research have you done so far?

Where have you looked? Have you done Google searches on your best keyword phrases? Do you know who your competitors are and what products they are selling?

Have you looked at the sales offers of the top businesses in your niche to see what main products, bonuses and extras they are offering?

Have you made a list of relevant products at Amazon?

Have you done your research to see who is anxious to make a purchase in your niche (your audience)? What are they buying online right now?

Have you checked sites that specifically cater to affiliates?

Have you been observing what's going on in relevant forums?

Have you surveyed people in the niche and asked them what related products they are interested in purchasing?

Of course what I'm suggesting is that you dig into your own niche and uncover the data that will help you market your own site and products rather than asking for a competitor to divulge his business for you.

    Good luck,

    Steve

Steve - This is perfect and much appreciate the question you posed for me to ask myself. I have done some of that, but am digging deeper now!

Also, I'm not asking a competitor to reveal their secrets nor somebody else to do the legwork, but offering something (a good sized, active list) to those looking to monetize their related products. That being said, just like you mentioned, the chances of those people seeing this thread are slim to none.

      Back to the legwork...

      Thanks again!
