Software for finding niche-specific affiliates?

I am getting my ducks in a row preparing for a product launch. In my attempt to find affiliates in my niche, I found a post for JV Genie going back to 2011 (and one as recent as 2013). It seemed like a pretty cool software for finding affiliates and creating a contact list.

However, the product seems to be DOA.

Are there any other websites or software like this available today?

The best I've ever found has been Google. Make a list of products similar to the one you want affiliates for, then search using strings like [product name] +review or "is [product name] a scam".

Some will be serious affiliates, others will be bottom feeders looking for scraps. I'm betting you can probably tell the difference by checking their sites and other online presence.

If you've ever had an AdSense monetised website in your niche, just look at who the regular advertisers are. Then approach them and see if they have affiliate plans. If they don't, they might be interested in buying links or ad spots on your site.

My best affiliate plan never advertised their scheme so few people know about it. But it's been doing great for me.

Thank you all for the input.

In regards to using Google, I have been finding affiliates by doing just that up until this point. This only seems to track down those who leverage their SEO sites for pushing products.

How do you find the affiliates that strictly sell to their lists?

Same basic idea, but different search strings. Look for related sites that appear to have no ads or other obvious monetization, but do emphasize joining a list or taking a free course, etc.

The tip about watching the regular advertisers is also good, and it goes beyond Google.
