Hello everyone, where's the best place to find the best (FREE) tools to setup and build a website? Is a domain the same? Which host gives the best bang for your buck? Thank You in advance.... |

You may want to start with a Wordpress or Blogger website if you are looking for something free. They are easy to build. I would recommend Namecheap to register your domain and Hostgator for your hosting. Tim |

You might also try Weebly. I have my ghostwriting site set up there (free), and it consistently ranks on page 1 & 2 for my keywords. Really simple to use!

With the baby package on Hostgator you can add as many domains as you want and their customer service is great. You can link forward your domain names to wordpress blog hosted by Hostgator. That works great. The blog in my sig. is just one of them. |

I have used Weebly for a couple of my sites, but I did find them quite hard to edit sometimes and the spacing between some of the drag and drop elements seemed a bit wonky at times. I think if you are doing a simple page design though they are definately easy to use as Tess47 has mentioned. I also have my newer sites hosted through Hostgator and have honestly found them brilliant to work with. All the best |

Skip the freebie webtools and get acquainted with Self Hosted WordPress. WordPress has an amazing array of free plugins, but more importantly it's built for promotion. Static sites are harder to promote. You can do it, but why start out making things harder than they need to be? As far as cheap hosts go... there are a lot of them... LunarPages, HostGator, HostMonster, etc. In my opinion all about the same. |
