Internet Marketing for the Future

We all know that we must prepare our Internet Marketing work efforts for the future, how does one prepare in today's ever changing Internet? What should all Warriors be doing now?

One of the first things I learned from reading Dan Kennedy back in 1994, from a big ugly copywriting book with a yellow cover, was this:

If you can drop the word "goatherder" into the place of the target audience noun in the copy, and it still makes sense, you need to rewrite your copy.

We all know that we must prepare our goatherder work efforts for the future, how does one prepare in today's ever changing goatherding world? What should all goatherders be doing now?

I'm not trying to be mean. Some of your posts are useful. But I don't see the point of this one.

("GET TO WORK" would be my answer, BTW...the same darn thing as ever...which is as lousy and non-specific an answer as the question asked.)

Might I suggest an off-topic variation?

The tactics or methods may change but the principles of marketing will not. Focus on your foundations and adapt as needed to the method of delivery.

The internet will keep getting more and more adhesive. Social media is bound to change, again, one of these days, whether it be by a new network, or by a new connecting feature.. And when it does, there will be another storm of new marketing techniques.

In my opinion, Internet Marketing is the industry to be in now and most certainly forever.

I Personally I think the best way to prepare for the the future is to cultivate
the skill/ability to "Adapt to Change". Yes, that is a learned skill too. And it's probably one of the most overlooked.

The successful people and businesses who dominated in the past are no longer with us because they couldn't or they refused to adapt to change. And those who did are still around.

In fact, that's a way newbies can catch up with and sometimes surpass the more experienced marketers who refused to adapt.

For example, many older marketers refuse to master social media, mobile marketing, social conversions , personalized content marketing , visual storytelling. Plus, a host of other methods, techniques and platforms that's quickly emerging.

Many will just be burned out (sigh) with having to keep learning something else new. Either that or they'll reluctantly do it kicking and screaming. So, if you can master Instagram marketing (assuming your prospects go there) and your competitors are clueless you think that would give you an advantage? That same example applies to dozens of other emerging platforms, techniques and methods.

Yet you see newbies trying to compete head to head with million dollar competitors on Google, Facebook, Bing and other major platforms. Is it any wonder the I.M failure rate is so high? SMH.

Being able to adapt to change faster than your competitors can be a way to quickly level the playing field with larger competitors.

So, if you can cultivate the skills, attitude and motivation to adapt to change instead of resisting it, you'll have a powerful advantage.

What I am seeing these days is that people are now looking for personal contact.

Yes build relationships with social media, blogging, video marketing, email marketing and so on... but people are wanting to talk over the phone and meet with you at events etc.

So gear up around creating events for that personal contact.

If you want some ideas happy to help out.

Send me a message if you want some ideas

    Cheers

A book I recently read called Sacred Economics has helped me look at things a little differently. I recommend checking it out. The author lets you read it online for free on his site.

While there are some small changes we must adapt to, I don't think stuff really changes all that much, so I'd say the best thing you can do is to focus on learning a long-term business model -- whether that be niche blogging, making money with Kindle, becoming a ghostwriter or having your own PLR store and so on.

Master Internet Marketing, Making Money Online. It was a recommendation from Mark Ford of Palm Beach Income. From his research, it seems the playing field is level right now for anyone. Whether you have a diploma or not, college degree or not. Just a willingness to learn.
Do due diligence to find out who you would like to learn about Internet Marketing. This forum is a good start as well as a Google search too.
