This is really the best answer. I would also use FB to promote it. Don't bother "boosting" posts, thats a waste. Use the actual ad manager to narrow down your exact demographic.

I have seen forum owners posting a lot of entries themselves. Quality inputs will bring you what you want.

make any educational video and post it on youtube. Leave the link of your forum in description

Make sure the video is related to the niche of your blog. Which is Dental Health in this case

While it's important to get visitors the biggest problem is probably not there. Forums and other sites that require certain level of user activity tend to be very hard to get going, which is why there's a profession called community manager. How do you find individuals who might be interested? How do you convince them to spend time on your site when they could just use existing forums or something like Facebook?

I don't have any real answers, but this is something that's recognized as a problem, and there's a lot of material published about it. Start from a Google search.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Start with very few Sub-Forum boards,
Create an open Sub-forum board and allow people to post freely without any restriction

People turn to avoid forum boards with stringent rules.

    then
Help other users in the related forums with the signature link of your forum.
Build audience on Facebook and Google+.
Try to give valuable and proven tips to others.

Firstly you need to write more threads and posts and engage some people to write posts to promote your forum. It would be help in the beginning. You need to write a least 10 threads in every category. Social bookmarking works nice for forums. Let's try it.

    Sbagde,

Please don't take offense at this, none intended . . . dental health isn't something that I would care to spend any time discussing (even though I believe in the concept). Even if you targeted dentists as your prospects, they don't have time to chit-chat about the subject on a forum. IMO, this isn't a viable forum subject. Of course, I could be wrong.

      Steve,

I understand what you want to say about this topic and yes the dentist does not have time to chit-chat on such forum but It doesn't meant that it not good. It helps that people who have problems related to the dental. They share their problems and get proper advice over that. Also people get the information about dentistry.

I have no idea how people get millions of posts on their forum (like that Skyscraper one). I get a few posts on my forum, but it's like 75% spammers, 25% legit posters.

Why not make a forum about braces - they're popular, people have loads of questions about them and in Thailand people get them just because they look cute.

To my understanding, you start out with a regular site that establishes a huge following and traffic--then you create a forum when there's obvious interest about your niche site.
