How to Succeed as a Newbie

I was a newbie at one time and it was frustrating!!! Spending money i did not have in courses and systems and spending hours and hours on the computer but never got anywhere. I always thought i needed more information and more skill first be i take action. Until i came across this quote and then my breakthrough...

"Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful."
- Mark Victor Hansen

I took action and stuck with it until i started getting results only after 2 months of purchasing a step-by-step WSO from this forum. They were not much but it was very encouraging earning my first $$$$ online after 3 years. Now i am a bit more confident than before...and am absolutely confident that anyone can succeed on line. The key is taking ACTION!!!

    Completely agree. Good quote.

You really have to embrace the journey. Sure, seeing the results is awesome, but half the fun is getting there.

A lot of people hit a few bumps in the road and then decide it's not worth it. A positive attitude and long-term perspective go a long way here.

    Study before spending money.
do practice on what you study and understand wht are your mistake.

Do test with no more than 50$ If your strategy is ok you can increase your work.
Otherwise understand what do you have to improve!

    don t give up!

Congrats on finally earning after 3 years.

Think of it this way... lesser people GAVE UP.

    But you stuck to it.

Life is a test of CHARACTER.

Always remember that and you'll keep coming out ahead.

For me when my thinking started to change so did my results. First thing somebody needs to do is don't spend money they don't have because that is off to the wrong start.

You need to create yourself and set a budget for your marketing business. Create some goals and plans to get there.

Having all in your head is not enough for over 95% of people out there. You need to write it down.

Only when you have a direction or some numbers to shoot for then what exactly are you doing with yourself.

    Whats your outcome?

Everybody wants the money or the end results but you know there is a path or blueprint to follow and its much greator than playing the lotto.

      Loving it EPoltrack77.

Having a clear long term goal, and letting that direct your daily effort is the cornerstone of success in any long term project - IMHO.

That's why there's a popular stat that 50 percent of businesses fail in the first year and 95 percent fail within five years and that's why there are several versions of successful products because they have been launched straight away and just improved along the way. Persistence is a must as well as openness to changes as the direction of business may not always be what has been planned for originally.

I'm also a newbie and currently have a blogspot blog. I just started last june, I don't how long will it take for me to start generating traffic to blog. My posts are currently positioned between 10th and 12th page of Google search results for their keywords. But that quote you shared has inspired me, I will keep on trying and be persistent even though I feel there is slim chance of getting my posts on the first page of search results.

A popular video a couple of years ago with Tony Robbins, Frank Kern, and John Reese had a powerful message in it from Tony Robbins:

You need 4 things to increase your chances of success:

      These steps are in order...

      1. Belief/Certainty - It starts by believing in what it is you want to do and achieve, and having certainty that you will get there. See the results you want in your head before it even happens.

      2. Potential - This now unlocks more potential in yourself to do whatever it is you want.

      3. Action - With a strong belief, and increased potential, you'll take BETTER action.

      4. Results - With the 3 steps above, it's highly likely you'll see results. And with seeing results, you'll create momentum, and then this cycle will just keep repeating itself.

While I am a big believer in not spending money you don't have, there are so many of the successful 'big guns' that have cautioned against having your blog on a free site.

Why? If the site is free, someone other than you owns it and controls it. They can at any time decide to shut it down. You don't want to put your hard work into something that can disappear in the blink of an eye. And if you are aiming at your blog being your source of income, you certainly don't want it to be subject to the whims of someone else.

The cost of a hosting service is pretty inexpensive. And is even less so when you realize that everything you put on YOUR site will always be yours. No one has control over it but you. You already know that your content is showing up on Google so you're doing something right. Congrats on that! I'd really suggest that you purchase a domain name, get a hosting account, and get your blog set up there so all of your content will always be yours to do with as you please.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

You shouldn't feel bad about finally making money after 3 years. It's pretty typical among the common newbie. Most people say it's a scam and quit... and then try to sell t-shirts on their website as if the marketing will be any different.

Congrats man. Keeping making that paper.

Congrats on your persistence. What you have gone through is way more inspiring than someone making their first sale within a week.

To me, i believe that as long as you don't give up, you will eventually get to where you want to be. With unyielding persistence, failures becomes lessons on what to avoid for your success.

All the best! I'll be rooting for your success.

      Thanks.

My desire and goal online however has always been to earn residual income so i can achieve time freedom. For me now, that's financial freedom, If not then i might just go back to my 8-5 job and work for the rest of my life just like most people, because i have come to realise that trying to make money online is requires hard work as most said and having experienced it my self , I do not intend to work hard for the rest of my life.

I want to work hard to a point... and then enjoy the fruit of my labor while others are working for me.

"I would rather earn 1% off the efforts of 100 people than 100% off the efforts of myself." John D. Rockefeller

I think i have found a system that is not too expensive that can help me do that, but have yet to prove it.

Will keep you posted once i have my break through...

Funny, I just reminded myself of this today (which happens often, ah!) when developing a strategy for instagram. I am really not great at designing and so my photos looked kinda ugly and was getting a little bit frustrated with that.

Then I thought: well, nobody was born an artist! If I do more I will eventually become better.

I just need to start posting.

    And so I did. ,)

Nice job. Most would have ,understandably, given up after 3 years.

I usually tell most people that if they have not made a profit within a year ( let alone 3 lol) that they should find some other line of focus.

But you bucked this ideology and made it using your own rules

I have that quote posted on the wall above my desk.

Everyone starts somewhere, and it's always 'baby steps'. Online marketing is always pitched as being 'simple' or 'easy', or worst of all 'push button income'.

Simple? Not at all. There are truly volumes of information that we need to study to really become proficient at the various steps involved. (But one very important note...You don't have to know it all before you put something up to sell. A friend and mentor once told me, "If you don't put up a 'buy' button, you'll never sell anything!")

Easy? That kind of depends on how you look at it. It's easier than digging ditches...at least physically. It can be very difficult when you run into the digital 'bumps in the road'. Over the last year or so, YouTube has become my best friend! LOL

Push button income...I hate that phrase! Yes, once you have become moderately successful with the various steps and have built an email list, there is some validity to those words. But they have been hyped in so many, many promotions that I cringe every time I hear them. Yet I know that someone new who has aspirations of making a business online is going to fall into the trap. The trap that leads to shiny object syndrome...that 21st century disease that empties wallets faster than the IRS on tax day.

My goal is to eventually switch from my brick & mortar business to strictly an online one. And my first aim in my online presence is to be able to help someone follow along without telling them to purchase every new bell or whistle that gets pumped out in the product launches. My second aim is to sell enough products and services online to recoup the barrels of money that I spent on shiny objects before I regained my sanity! Hahaha!

    Oh...thanks for a great post!

    Great work felisitie!

I have read posts like this before, and just like you - I was waiting for everything to be perfect, thinking that I could read my way to becoming an "EXPERT", lol.

About 2 months ago I actually started taking ACTION. What I have learned over these past 2 months has been phenomenal, and it puts my last 2 years of INACTION to shame!

    Cheers for the post!

Once you put a business model into motion (lay the foundation), it will become easier and easier. After a while, you'll wonder what took you so long. I was like that when I started blogging. It literally took me two months to decide what niche I wanted to go into. After two months, I decided to go into a niche that was related to what I majored in while in college ("learn Spanish" niche) and took just about as long to pick a theme for my blog - ha, ha. After I got into it, I realized that it wasn't that big of a deal. The point is to have stuff out there that can make you money. Otherwise, you're wasting time you can't get back.
