What is best way to promote with autoresponder?

I have a course consisting of 10 videos/articles. I want to build my list using these articles in my autoresponder and promote a product somewhere along the line. I wondered if I should give a video/article a day over 10 days, or one a week over 10 weeks.

Also if I have one or two products to promote, should I put a link into each email or only on the very last email? I have seen examples of both, but wondered which works better.

Thanks

My suggestion would be rather 2 mails a week, monday and thursday
Promotion link should go in the 3rd 6th 8th and 10th session.

      Thanks for the reply.

It's an interesting strategy. I just wondered the science behind it. I assume an email a day with the link in it is overkill.

Is it possible to specify a specific day to send a message? I thought it was done by interval.

There is no science behind it just practice. 1 message a day is overwhelming (who has so much time nowdays?) unless the recipient is very waiting for the information eagerly.
Advertising in every issue will show to much the reality that you basicly just want to SELL . Ofcourse you'll loose a couple of click throughs but consider them as opportunity cost for keeping face.

Without knowing the nature of your product, I owuld go with every other day.

But this will depend on just how much you are sharing in each email.
How does it take to digest?

I'm on lists where I get emails every day and I don't find this an overkill
because it's an area I have a deep interest in. How much your market
can devour will depend on the particular market and the competition.

      Thanks for your replies.

I would like to ask if it is better to include an affiliate link in the email lesson or create a separate dedicated selling email. My lesson can be quite long, say 420 words and there is a link to a video. I hope my link does not get missed in the email, although I entered it in the middle and right at the end.

The niche is for a well known computer game.

        troy23,

I would place the affiliate link within the information mail and would not keep a separate sales mail because it is too offensive in my oppinion. But i all depends on your personal marketing style. I tend to be rather cautious with such email advertising but I've seen big time affiliates doing email marketing in a pretty agressive way with success.

          Thanks.

If no sale after the final email, should I follow up with a sales mail asking them why they have not bought and to do it now?
